SpeedWalk or run for 30 mins a day 7 wk challenge

Im going to walk or run for 30 mins a day starting tomorrow. I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow and then at the end of 7 weeks( sch summer hols). It would be great to have a companion , anyone up for it? I currently do no exercise but I have jogged in the past. I'm overweight, probably nearly 12 stone and a size 14. My excuse for not exercising is that I have no to time with wanting to spend time with dd and working full time. However, work will be reasonably quiet over next 7 weeks so I'll be able to fit it in. I think at least one partner would help keep me motivated.

did an impromptu train trip up to my mums yesterday so didnt fit in 30 mins (although did supervise unruly DD and cousins on a walk to shops and back). Managed speed walk today and will try and get extra half hour in tommorow.

Oh and just checked my pace with runfinder 3.5miles per hour which is ermm not speedy brisk.

I'm skeptical about walking. My mum walked an hour, half of it uphill, every day of her life. She was, and still is, fat.

Worse week ever to start this it turned out - everything went wrong and I had to start work early and finish late. Still keen to do it but may not be able to commit to doing whole 7 days for the next two weeks due to stupid work. Will do it as I can though!

Just do what u can! Best to have the plan in mind every day for when yu can find time... Am still at it.. Bugger all results though ....

thenightsky anyone can walk as far as they want or even run as much as they can but if they still eat Calories over their energy allowance for the day they will put on weight /maintain overweightness.

I am doing this for health and my heart - I also happen to be eating healthy and trying to lose some pounds if it helps so be it !

40 mins brisk walk today - got off the train two stops early. How is everyone else getting on. I am feeling a bit better less huffy and puffy Grin

Back on the bandwagon - sort of. Did 40mins at gym which included weights, running and rowing. So I'm changing my challenge to 30mins of any exercise :)
