I'm using MFP whilst bf my 5 nearly 6mo. I have been in the gym at least 3 times a weeks since she was 6 weeks old and initially lost about 5kg but I am now stuck at about a stone and a half over my normal weight, I have been seeing trainer and going spinning at least twice and do an 1.5 hour yoga class once a week but I'm really not noticing any difference. Baby is now weaning onto 3 small meals a day so I have cut by bf cals to half.

It's so depressing as I really am working really hard at it.she is baby no 3 and my body is a train wreck after this pregnancy Sad.she has stayed on the 50th centile since birth. Any suggestions?

How many calories are you allowing yourself on MFP?

Are you being strict with things like portion sizes? You've been dieting for a while and its so easy for these things to slip.

Have you tried varying your calorie intake so you have 1200 one day, 1500 the next and then 1800?

The exercise you're doing is great but your diet will be key to you losing weight.

Something else to keep in mind is that some women find they do carry extra weight while breastfeeding.

Try not to get downhearted it will come off!

Thanks, I've dropped my cals to 250 now that she is having solids too. I am pretty good about portions, sometimes I think I probably am not eating enough because I'm starving at bed time.

I haven't tried alternating cals, I'll look into that today. It's just so frustrating because my previous babies the weight just dropped off. Must be the difference between have g babies in your 20s and 30s

I'll join you. BF ing 4 week old ds4. 3 stone more than pre pregnancy . I know from past experience BF does not seem to help me lose weight.

Congratulations on your baby. It's hard isn't it. I had 3 stone at 4 weeks too and I've managed 1 and a half relatively easily but am now stuck. Baby is feeding quite a bit in the heat but sleeping fairly well which helps as I find tiredness makes me crave sugar. I am doubling up gym sessions for the next 3 days to see if that helps.

The worst thing is having to get my flabby body out in the heat.

I'll join you too.

DC2 is 9 weeks old, and I've been on MFP for 7 weeks. I've lost 13lb so far, although the weight loss is definitely slowing down. I'd like to think the 13lb is all my hard work, but suspect some was the natural post-baby weight loss.

I'm already at pre DC2 weight, but nowhere near pre DC1 weight (about another stone), and not at my goal weight (about another stone, maybe stone and a half).

Over the past week, I've started running again (hence why I can earn 400 cals through exercise), and feel like I've got a lot of calories to play with 1200 + 500(bf) + 400(exercise) = 2100!.

I'm trying not to eat less than 1700 per day, or 1800 when I'm exercising as I feel like I can eat a healthily and without being hungry at this level. I don't see the point of forcing myself up to the 2100 per day. I know some people will disagree, but if I wasn't counting calories / dieting, I would probably stop at this level without thinking about it.

Baby is doing well - putting on weight at a good rate, so I'm not concerned about adverse impact on my milk.

One two, you're doing really well, pre baby weight at 9 weeks is a pretty good achievement.
This is my 3rd baby, no 1 I put on masses but lost it with out trying by 5m I was pre baby weight, some crept on over the next year so before trying for baby no 2 I worked my socks off and got back to lower than pre baby 1 weight, when he was a year for the first time in my life I began religiously going to the gym when I got pregnant this last time I was the fittest I have ever been, I continued spinning until I was 5months pregnant but despite all of that I still put the same weight on but my baby was much smaller than the others. This time the weight is not shifting I'm 11 stone when I usually weigh about 9 and a half. I've been working my socks off too. I'm thinking it's partly because of my age, I was in my 20s with the others but am now in my 30s and partly because every baby has added a bit.

Tonight I have done a spinning class and then a body pump class i have earned an extra 1000cals on top of my 300 bf, I can't eat them, it's too much. I just really hope that this week I shift at least 2pm to get the ball rolling a bit.

For foxsake give yourself a break! You will get to an age where you're more susceptible to putting on weight and keeping it on no matter what you do. You are really doing a lot of exercise, your body will be trying to hang on to what ever weight it can while you are breastfeeding.

Big hugs though, you must have thighs like Arnie Grin
