Crazy Idea Club - Eat Healthy and Exercise club for ex-yo-yo Fad Dieters

Just wanted a club for all of those that have been aboard the diet band wagon for years or even decades, tried everything there is from VLCDs, liquid diets, boot camps, Weight Watchers, Atkins, Dukin, South Beach, Jenny Craig, Slimming world etc etc and went slightly red when all those people who would make annoying comments like - east less move more... were in fact actually right! (I hate it when that happens sigh) I'm not saying these diets don't work - they do if you can stick to them forever-ish. I can't so I made a promise to myself to never take part in another 'diet plan' and it's hilarious the was every diet says we're not diet we are a way of life, actually they are diets, counting points or KJs, can't eat this, can eat that, do eat this at a full moon in the third cycle of Venus or whatever....

After years of Yo-yo-ing looking for the next quick fix i decided enough was enough about 3-4 months ago and just started eating better portion sizes eating less sugar and fried foods trying to eat more veggies and a piece or 2 of fruit and a couple of portions of dairy everyday etc. I joined the gym and go 4-6 times a week. Lo-and-behold I'm losing weight and not finding it hard to stick to because really there isn't any set rules (yes I have a bit of pizza when i want to but i tell myself only one slice). I'm far from winning my battle of the bulge though, a way to go with some slips, but there is something really freeing about dropping all the set rules. (I have a friend who lost 45kg this way and has kept it off for 9 years)

SO I just wanted to create a place for other ladies either looking at doing this, or have already achieved their goals this way, or like me is part way into what I hope will be life long habits, I must admit the weight doesn't always come off as quick as other methods but I'm hoping the habits we development will mean it stays off for good.

Please don't take this that I'm dissing any diets that have worked for you- it's me that fails not the diets! This is what is working for me when all else I try fails!Grin

I totally agree with this. I have lost 58 pounds [26.36 kgs] doing exactly this. I am also much fitter than I used to be.
I wasn't really a yoyo dieter and haven't really tried the diets or slimming clubs you mentioned. TBH I was just greedy and lazy and put weight on gradually. It has been a matter of changing my lifestyle, and I feel much happier for it. I don't want to go back to my old ways because I feel much happier now.
