I've been reading the section for months, but I'm now giving it a go.

My incentive is to be a size 10/ 10 stone by September when my daughter starts school. Four years ago, before children, I was this size and weight, so I know I can do it. I just don't want to embarrass myself at the school gate.

I will probably be using this as a personal blog, so please feel free to comment. Also if you have a success story/ tips/ coping mechanisms, then please let me know.

Start weight is 95kgs
Aim is 64kgs

Hi there :)
Good luck with your goal. You can do it :)
What diet have you started?

renaldo · 30/04/2012 16:18

Good luck
it worked really well for my friend 2 years ago and she has really kept it off

itdidntworkout · 30/04/2012 16:18

Doing The Kee Diet. Very excited about it. Shakes, soups and spaghetti bolognese/ chilli. Tried all of them over the weekend, very scummy!

Good luck :)

How's it going? Had a quick look at this diet and am interested in doing it. I weigh the same as you and have set myself a target of Oct/November to reach my goal.
Good luck!

Headaches, nausea and starving! Apparently after the first few days, it gets better - here's hoping!

That will ease off just make sure your drinking enough water to flush the system!!! Smile

Fluffy1234 · 04/05/2012 20:51

I went from 189 pounds to 125 pounds low carbing last year and although it was hell losing the weight was so worth it. I feel great now.
I wish you every success.

PlayEatSleep · 04/05/2012 21:00

How long did it take you Fluffy? And how strict were you with the low-carbing? Did you still eat veg and fruits? Any days off?

Fluffy1234 · 04/05/2012 21:09

8 months, I ate lots of veg but no fruit. I was pretty strict for about the middle three months. Then when I had lost three and a half stone I started to have one treat meal at the weekend such as a takeaway but then was mega good in the week especially on Mondays. My main thing used to be eating chocolate in the evening so I completely banned that.
I just thought a few shitty months and then I will be slim.

itdidntworkout · 04/05/2012 21:39

Congratulations Fluffy! I hope it gets easier. Drinking all the water isn't fun, I'm on the loo all day and feel light-headed.

How long should this last, a week or three?

PlayEatSleep · 04/05/2012 21:52

Congrats Fluffy. I have just started. My technique is loads of veg and no fruits but I do have treats at the week-end but super strict during the week. I have 2 stones to lose

itdidntworkout · 08/05/2012 11:13

One week on and I have lost 2kgs. Not bad, but I was expecting a large weight loss in the first week.

For those that have done it, I really need your encouragement. I feel really queasy and light-headed. Managing 2.5 litres a day and slowly working my way up, but it's a struggle.

It gets better. I'm on week 15 or so on a VLCD, although my own personal food demons have raised their heads and I'm the same weight-wise as I was a month ago. I have however lost 3st since jan, so maintaining that is still a million times better than where I was before! Some people take a week or more to get into the swing of it, some less. I've found the site minimins very useful for support, and I use MFP to log everything I eat as all my packs are listed. I'm on Slim and Save, very yummy and cheaper than LL/CD!

itdidntworkout · 09/05/2012 14:09

Scarf- how long have you been maintaining or do you eat in addition to VLCD? How much water do you drink and do yundrinkmit throughout the day or a litre at a time?

OP posts:
ScarfOfSexualPreference · 09/05/2012 14:48

I'm not really maintaining as such- I keep going up and down because I binge! Not good, not good at all. I went mad last weekend and gained 7lb in 3 days. I'm hoping to keep on the VLCD now till June, but my problem is I eat when stressed and I am REALLY stressed now as I've lost my job.

I drink 4-8l a day, it varies. I have water, flavoured water (there are a few without citric acid in, which affects ketosis), fizzy or still water with water flavourings in from Slim and Save, black tea, boullion which I limit to one or two a day, and sometimes coke zero, dr pepper zero or Asda own brand diet coke- the only fizzy, sugarfree drinks with no citric acid in. I d have to limit my drinking though as I can easily drink 10+ litres a day which is when it becomes dangerous. I drink constantly, sip from a bottle and have big glasses when at home. Drinking a litre at a time would be a bad idea I think, as having too much in one go can affect you, I think the kidneys get overwhealmed. People have died from drinking too much in one go.

My diet was really working for me but I sabotage myself. Had I stuck to it, I'd be approaching my goal right now but I weigh the same now as I did a month ago just because I binge then get back on it. I'm on it for now, hope I can continue!
