Will I need to look like a 12 year old boy before my arse to gets any smaller?

I have been dieting and exercising since November and have lost 2.5 stone (yay!). I have another stone to lose, but I am now starting to get a bit bony and flat chested on my top half. My thighs and arse are still enormous and I have a hideous spare tyre around my middle, this isn't helped by the CS shelf thingy that pops out over my jeans whether I am wearing a pair that are a bit big or a bit tight. Will I just continue to get more and more out of proportion, or will the last bit just magically come off where it is meant to? I am 5ft 7 (.5 Grin) and I was 14.5 (ish) stone to begin with (size 16) and am now a blobby 12-14 and 12.2 stone

Ha ha! Firstly well done for your wonderful weight loss so far! I carry all my weight on my lower half, fat arse and thighs. This is always the last place where it seems to come off. I do a fair amount of running to try and help this, have you tried exercise which targets those areas? It will come off in the end though just keep going :)

Thank you Smile. I am doing Zumba toning once a week (the one where you do weights and prancing) and a boxercise and circuits class (ouch). I am just in the last few weeks of my degree so everything but those have gone out of the window for the moment, apart from walking everywhere and cleaning. Before the exam panic set in I had started jogging twice week too. But I am unable to get past doing 1 mile at a snails pace, so I think I will give c25k a try.

I have the same problem - I am 5ft 8 and when I started dieting I was 10st 11lbs and size 14 and I now weight 9st 6lbs - my arse & thighs are still the problem area, I'm quite busty but all flesh has gone from my chest - and arms are looking a bit weedy and my waist is non existent but my thighs and arse hang in there refusing to join in the weight loss.

I run, so my legs must be toned, not that you can see the toning under a huge layer of fat. Biggest shock was that shopping was still a bloody nightmare - I'm too curvy, have just accepted that I have to try on 50 pairs of jeans before finding the right ones.

I have read that your body fat % has to be quite low before you lose the fat from stubborn areas...something like 18%...not that is thin!

It's very annoying isn't it? To add insult to injury my last 10lb baby has pushed out my ribs, so that I am now skinny if rib but wider there than I was beforeAngry. I will be most pissed off if I struggle on for another stone or so, then look worse than I do now.

Is there a special sum to work out body fat %? I took part in a study before I started the diet and I think mine was about 30% then Blush

Your pre diet weight is around my target weight! Even when really skinny as a teen, I was always at least 10.5 stone though...

I have just looked at body far charts and 30 is ok apparently, so it must have been 35
