Hi I have been doing the shred for less then a week and have gained 2.5 lbs. My eating etc has stayed the same so am I gaining muscle or what ??

Probably gaining muscle. Muscle burns more calories than fat tissue, so that's great. Do your clothes feel any different?

I would say muscle but its been less than a week so water maybe? Are you due your period?

returnvisit · 14/04/2012 17:47

Yes my clothes feel a bit tighter too!
I had my dd a few months ago so period hasn't returned yet!
It's so annoying, I wanted to see the lbs drop off not gain!

My weight went up in early days of shred, then came back down to where I was before and stabilised, but I lost inches.

muscle is leaner so therefore you will lose inches. Unfortunately your clothes should feel looser not tighter. But give it a chance! Grin I definitely feel toned when doing the shred.

Weight gain can be result of water retention which is what usually happens with muscles the early days of new excercise. I think that muscle build up comes at later stages. Give it couple of days and your weight will probably come down to usual level. If you carry on, then you will gain muscles.

Ok thanks for the replies, I will definitely stick with it. How long was it before you started seeing results doing the shred ?
