Ok, so I've ordered the DVD and am motivated to start. Have looked on few threads and see I need weights just not sure what sort. Do people use proper dumbells or will cans do . I'm guessing you have to start with a specific weight?

I have 2lb weights. You can sometimes pick them up cheap in TK Maxx :)

I have put on 4lb in recent weeks. I need to get back on the shred!

I've just started the Shred. I have 2.2lb weights but can't use them yet so am using small bottles of water until I can move up to something proper.

I've only done 3 days and to be honest haven't managed to entire workout without stopping yet - sad eh. It's only been brief but the second cardio has me knackered (but then I am very unfit).

Am really hoping this is going to work as I have put on so much weight over the last couple of years. I am also on a low GI diet so eating every 3 hours, and eating properly with no carbs after lunch (apart from a home-made oat bar for an afternoon snack). I feel better on the diet - mostly cos I am now eating my 5 a day (largely fruit though) and thus feeling virtuous ;o)

Once I'm fit enough I may join a gym - daft not to be able to go to a gym cos you are so unfit, but they are such intimidating places; no one can see me pant and sweat at the slightest exercise at home!

OP - am I alone in being so unfit that the Shred is almost impossible without a couple of mini-breaks?

If you Ad search you'll find some huge long shred-threads. there are loads of people who nearly die/ be sick/ lie down before the end. It's just important that you try a bit harder each time :)

Seriously, if you keep at it the results are nigh on miraculous in a really short time :)

Thanks for the advice. I'm keen to start, just waiting for the DVD now. Think I'll start with cans and see how I get on.

Good luck to you tea. X
