How do I get the last 8lbs off?

Dd is 12 months. I work full time in an office based job. I don't get a lunch break but eat a sandwich at my desk. I go straight home after work to bf dd.

With shopping, cooking, cleaning etc I'm not doing any exercise. DH works long hours and spends 3 hours a day commuting so can't really help. He gets home at 1930, we all eat then one of us baths and puts dd to bed, the other clears up. Then bed and repeat. Weekends seem to consist of housework, church and the odd trip out.

Dd doesn't sleep through, I'm shattered, but I really want this weight off. Please help me.

Well, I have a similar problem - although it's the last 12-14lbs for me. I have stuck at the same weight for 3 or 4 weeks now and need to shift it.

Low carb [ish ] is the way to go I feel

Glad I'm not the only one. WW has worked for me before, but I haven't tried to get my head round propoints and I just don't have time to weigh and track (or it feels like it).

Why don't you try an exercise DVD you can do at home (the Shred is great - hard work but it is very effective Grin); only takes 20 minutes so you should be able to fit it in. You can buy it from Amazon.

Try changing the sort of food you eat as well, can you have a salad or thermos of soup at your desk instead of a sandwich?

Have you looked at Slimming World? You don't need to go to their classes, just check out their website or buy one of the magazines. No weighing/counting - plenty to eat.

HappyCamel · 09/04/2012 15:49

Ok, will have a look at both. Thank you.

What is your current diet?

I think combo of low carb and 30 day shred would do it.

Do you eat meat?

Steak and salad for dinner. Cheese and coleslaw for lunch. With ham.

No wheat, no rice, no pasta. Lots of greeny leafy things. Grilled chicken, egg mayo, asparagus and salmon.

Glass of white wine/ vodka.

Low carb high protein, way to go!

I have porridge for breakfast, something like ham salad sandwich with hula hoops and an apple for lunch. I cook quick meals mostly. So Sunday's roast becomes curry on a Monday, casserole on a Tuesday etc.

I could cut down on carbs I think. I need to stop being lazy and cook yself a different meal to dd, who is BLW, and DH. Soup in a flask might be good for lunch.

Thinking about it, I bet I snack more than I think I do.
