Having just caught sight of my naked body I'm beginning to realise my jeans aren't shrinking and the quitting smoking has made me eat a lot more.
I need a diet plan. DP has no carbs and a lot of protein but I love carbs :-(
Exercise- something that can work around two toddlers would be great.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

I've been on a sort of diet since Christmas and have lost 3/4 stone. Not a huge amount but I've been losing steadily so working. I think the reason it's working is that it's very doable. Basically:

  1. Drink water - I now manage about 6 glasses a day.
  2. Rough oatmeal porridge with milk for breakfast. The rough bit is important as fine oatmeal doesn't work for some reason.
  3. Sandwich for lunch but be sensible about size and contents, easy on the butter, mayonnaise etc.
  4. For evening meal have Normal portion of meat or fish plus greens or salad, and if having rice or other starch only have a very small portion. I've got now that I don't really enjoy eating starchy stuff as I feel stuffed after it.

I've also pretty much cut out the extra bits like lattes and snacks but I'm not hungry so don't feel the need.

The final thing is to weigh yourself every day in kilos. This way you see progress which you don't see when you weigh yourself in stones, and you can adjust if the weight is creeping up again by drinking more water and taking the evening meal easy.

As far as exercise is concerned I cycle to work (15 minutes) but that's it. DH has been on the same regime since Christmas and swims every evening - he has lost nearly 2 stone. Aren't men unbearable?

Good luck with it!
