So...... Started the induction phase of Atkins today. Have coped pretty well (I know, its only one day!) but could do with some reassurance that the sugar and carb cravings tail off after this phase.....

Hi PigeonPair, it won't be long, soon you'll be looking forward to a decaff coffee with cream as your treat. The first two weeks are the most testing. And make sure you take your vitamins, and eat lots of leafy green veg dressed with some butter. Yum. and then Fibogel! Even my gp admits that it works.

Lose what you need and then convert to a Low GI diet instead which is much healthier and family friendly.

So here goes. Fed up with having been overweight for last 30 years and have decided it's now or never. Article I read on getting motivated to lose weight said that you just had to decide to do it. So I have decided.
Started Atkins today. 11 stone 12.
Want to be 9 stone 12 so 2 stone to lose.
Tried loads of stuff but never followed Atkins to the letter. Have to follow a gluten free diet anyway so figure that Atkins is probably the answer for me.
Had chunk of cheddar for breakfast and another for mid morning snack.
Just had egg mayo salad for lunch.
Planning pork stir fry for family tea tonight.
All tips gratefully received as am a total newbie.
Couple of questions - how long do people normally follow induction for? Is cheese the only dairy allowed in induction? People seem to be talking about ff yoghurt and cream but does that come later?
