Ds is being christened next weekend. Being the vain creature that I am, I want to look good in the photos :o (plus the dress I want to wear could do with being a little looser....)

Anyway, how much weight can I lose in a week without keeling over?

How would I do this? Carb free? Slimfast?

Exercise wise I have 2 small dcs (one of which is a bolter) and 2 horses that could do with a bit more exercise themselves.

It really depends on how much you have to lose but it's possible to lose half a stone on Dukan in a week.

I am 10st. I am only 5'3" though.

I used to be able to lose weight really easy (you know, to be able to get into posh frocks etc for a special occasion) but now I find it really hard (hence only having 7 days left :o )

I agree, dukan best for drastic weight lose in first week of diet. Agree 7lbs possible. Exercise helps but its what you eat that counts.

What do you eat on dukan? Isn't it hardcore no carbs? Lots of shellfish and meat?

First few days is basically just lean meat, eggs and low fat dairy. After that you can also have low carb veg every second day. It's really hardcore and I wouldn't recommend it long term but if it's just a week then it shouldn't do much harm.

Ok, that sounds doable. Can you have tea and coffee?

yes tea and coffee fine, even with milk. no sugar but sweetner ok.

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 02/04/2012 07:40

Phew! Not sure I could cope without tea!

Looks like scrambled eggs for breakfast then....

or... Michael van Straten is a nutritionist who advises how folks how to lose serious weight before surgery. he published a book called the Little Black Dress diet which I've referred to on an off over the years because it's sensible and bloody works.

He's got a 7 day weight loss plan and also a hardcore 3-day 'beat the bloat' regime

That is excellent! It looks like a really healthy, balanced diet though, why only 3 times a year? Or am I looking at the wrong bit?
