I've given up drinking and not replaced it with anything. I am now teetotal!

Clearly I wasn't drinking enough to affect my weight as weight has NOT dropped off me, as was predicted by friends who have recently cut back on their drinking.

Wine is not so bad diet wise - beer and lager is much worse.

On Weightwatchers - 100ml of wine = 1 point roughtly, so a bottle of wine is 7.5 points (half a bottle = 4 points rounded up).

I get 18 points a day, so more than happy to use a couple on wine every other day or so

See here . It reckons 87 in a 120ml glass. A bottle is usually 750ml I think so that would be around 250-300 calories in half a bottle.

The more alcohol in the wine, the higher the calories will be. I have been caught out before with some Aussie and Chilean wines with 14% alcohol in them - get you plastered really quickly and pile on the weight. Better off with something around 11.5% I think

The weightwatchers wine is nicer than you'd expect, just switch to that!

right, have decided that all alcohol is banned from this house forthwith and am only drinking on special occasions! can't believe it is soooo calorific!
