I have lost 16 pounds in 4.5 weeks.

I am very stubborn so it hasn't been too bad Wink

I was 12.10 Blush and am now 11.8. Still got just over a stone to go until am at my goal weight (am 5 foot 6).

But here's the thing....not one person (aside from DH and he doesn't really count does he) has noticed. Sheesh, I must have been HUGE for no-one to have noticed!

I will just continue to quietly pat myself on the back whilst I say no to offers of biscuits and cake. :o

Weeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllll Dooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnne! I am in a similar boat, but it's only now that I have bought some new clothes that actually fit that people are noticing. Good for you, it is hard work. Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels Grin

jenrendo · 28/03/2012 20:27

Oh, and freakily enough, I have nearly all the same stats as you. Are you me?!

IamSorenLorensen · 28/03/2012 20:36

Thank you jenrendo!

How bizarre that we are living some sort of parallel weight loss life.

I don't think you are me but I can't be sure Wink

Well done to you too!!

Bring on the buying of smaller clothes!!

No one said with me until I'd lost around 2 stone and was wearing smaller clothes. People don't like to say incase they are wrong.

jenrendo · 28/03/2012 20:49

Ha ha Soren start looking around and set some goals. I just bought myself a lovely dress for the summer that I wouldn't have dreamed of wearing last year. It really does make you want to stay motivated x

BettyBathroom · 28/03/2012 21:10

Congrats! No one has said to me either and I have lost almost a stone - I'm assuming they had no idea what size I was under my big winter coat! Also I think I haven't lost any weight from my face.

AuntFini · 28/03/2012 21:12

well done! No one said it to me until about 2 stone like forever. I think people don't want to embarrass you in case they're wrong

IamSorenLorensen · 28/03/2012 23:07

Thanks!

And well done too to bettybathroom and auntfini.

OK seems like 2 stone is where people really notice!!

Yes I can see how people wouldn't like to say - I suppose I wouldn't.

Jenrendo - I have set a goal for 12 more pounds by end April so that will mean 2 stone in 2 months.

I will start keeping an eye out for nice clothes in a smaller size. Very very exciting.

Just a wee word of warning :) Don't be surprised if the weight loss starts to tail off a bit and come off more slowly. You will probably plateau at some point before you start losing again, and 2 stone in 2 months is A LOT!! A pound a week is what dieticians say is the best way to get it off and keep it off. You will have to really up the exercise to lose 12 more pounds that quickly. Good luck! Don't mean to dampen your spirits. You go girl!

IamSorenLorensen · 29/03/2012 14:15

No I have heard that it comes off easily at first and then takes longer jenrendo...will see how I go and not beat myself up too much if I can't manage that goal!

I lost 1.5 stone between November and Christmas, then put on and lost the same 2lb all through Jan and Feb. Then I started losing again slowly and the last 2 weeks I have been back to 2lb a week loss, its getting harder and harder though, and I seem to be getting hungrier and hungrier Hmm. I have lost2 stone 4lb now but I have had to stop drinking to get the loss going again Sad. I am right at the end of my degree at the moment so incredibly busy and stressy. I am going to ramp up the exercise as soon as I can, which will help shift the last bit I hope. I have no summer clothes but am hanging on until I hit size 12 (am 5ft 7), as I got an engagement ring for Christmas which I got made larger is now falling off my hand and all the lovely new underwear I bought just before Christmas is far too big, so don't want to waste more £.

I have found not many people mention the loss, I think people feel its rude to talk about weight and/or that my fatness was never such a big deal for anyone else but me. Good luck! how are you losing it so quickly?

IamSorenLorensen · 30/03/2012 13:37

Well done DialsMavis, that's a lot of weight to lose.

I am doing the Dukan diet combined with 3 x a week cardio and lots of walking in between. No alcohol and lots of water.

Yes I agree re people not mentioning weight, having said that, only yesterday a friend did comment that I looked much slimmer, so that was nice :)

What I love most is how much more energy I have and how my moods seem to have improved and levelled out.

Good luck with getting the last bit shifted and into those size 12 summer clothes :)

No body noticed until I had lost 2 and a half stone and started wearind fitted size 14. Then absolutely everyone noticed, even people I didn't know I knew!
I have since lost over another 2 stone and people are still noticing, bit I wish they wouldn't as actually making me feel a bit self conscious now. The only people who didn't mention anything were my 3 SIL's.
I think new clothes and the weight are what people notice.

jellibelli · 31/03/2012 09:06

I read somewhere that it's not noticeable to others until you lose over 10% of your bodyweight. After that I think it depends on how observant your friends are! Grin
