I don't have alot of time and this sounds ideal to boost my fitness. Anyone out there who can give me some tips. Or anyone want to join me and try and encourage each other. I'm planning on doing it at home - as I'm nowhere near a gym.

Hi, I am in no way an expert but have been doing tabata for the past few weeks. if you have an ipad you can download a tabata app which is basically a timer and tells you when to workout and when to rest.

The timer starts at 4 mins 10 seconds - you press start, the first 10 seconds are just for you to mentally prepare yourself! following these 10 seconds is a countdown of 20 seconds where you work out as hard as you can for this short time. at the end of 20 seconds you enter another 10 sec rest time and so on until your 4 mins is done!

the exercises i do are things like sprinting on the spot, jumping jacks, skipping. I can't remember all the science behind it but i do know it raises your metabolism for the following 24 hours!

Its hard to work out if I'm doing it right - the article I read (that made me think it would be a good plan) said you would be sweating by half way through - well my heart rate is up, but not sweating. But afterwards my legs feel a tad jelly like which is presumably a good sign (half of what I did was squat based so maybe that's why no sweating - but that's what the article I read said to do!).

How long till you start noticing results for your overall fitness baby and how often do you do it every week. I googled again and another article said you were only meant to do it every 2 weeks. I was hoping it would solve my lack of time to exercise problem!
