Question about My Fitness Pal - what is a cup?

What is cup in grams or oz. I can't seem to find out what measure they use.

A cup is 250ml. You can't easily convert to g or oz because water would be more dense than say flour and with say grapes there would be lots of gaps!

Ooo. That's quite a lot. I put in that I had eaten three cups of minestrone soup yesterday and i certainly didn't eat that much.

Yay!

I've wondered this for years. Those crazy Americans!
