In 7 weeks off work and no exercise i have gained 10lbs Shock

i have given up smoking
I have started a proper daily skincare regime
I have had weekly pamper nights.
I have started ckeaning my teeth twice a day!

So why am i sitting here having eaten a large bag of walkers sensations all to myself followed by a large fresh cream raspberry turnover. It has no nutritional value at all, and i only ate dinner at 5pm.

So i need some joiners and some support, so i can come here when i want to eat a creme egg and you can talk me out of it Grin
its not about dieting, i just want to respect my body and stop filling it full of shite!

Ive been gaining weight steadily since i was about 20. I dont wear makeup and never go to hairdresser. I recently missed out on a promotion at work and know its cos of the image i portray. What things did u used to do to keep fit?
?

KalSkirata · 12/03/2012 21:49

I have a slipped disc and spondy-something so am interested in what exercise you plan.

mosschops30 · 12/03/2012 21:53

darth does your job require you to look good?
Im not saying that people have to wear make up to look or feel good, but i do Grin but after the groomed thread i have been looking after my skin, using primer and experimenting with eyeshadow, so im just letting myself down eating like this!
I would do pilates, yoga, body combat, running, swimming Sad havent done anything for weeks and hopefully will get the ok on thursday to get back to it.

What are you starting tomorrow? Healthy eating or the full works?

mosschops30 · 12/03/2012 21:55

kal is it cervical spondylosis? My consultant said i had that and some level of cervical myleopathy (at c5/6 c6/7).
What treatment are you having?

Can I join too.
I need to sort myself out too!

timetosmile · 12/03/2012 21:56

Don't be too disheartened though..everyone has good days and bad less good days, it's the balance of them over a week/month that makes the difference, and it sounds as if you have made amazing strides so far!

Pick yourself up, dust yourself down etc etc...and good luck tomorrow, by the way!

mosschops30 · 12/03/2012 21:58

Come join chunt Smile
start first thing, walk to school then healthy breakfast. Might try a leisurely swim tomorrow as i am childless in the afternoon (woohoo). My osteopath will kill me.

mosschops30 · 12/03/2012 21:59

timetosmile its not an odd day though, i am ramming food every day and the amount i can shovel is disgusting

mosschops - i dont really work with the public but its expected that we are 'smart'. The promotion would involve going out and meeting people/training people outside my workplace and seeing the public. I only have myself to blame that i got passed over. My plan tomorrow is: put make up on, take DC to school, park in (free) far away car park and walk in, lunch is in the fridge (sw pasta). Try to be good/healthy the rest of the day.

I think mosschops you are being hard on yourself - you have given up smoking which must have been tough!!! You should give yourself a pat on the back for that alone!

CuffingChunt · 13/03/2012 07:58

Good morning I hope everyone is good.
I had porridge for breakfast with honey and raisins. (doing old style weight watchers)
I will take the boys to school / pre school and then go swimming. Smile

mosschops30 · 13/03/2012 09:35

Morning, i too had porridge with blueberries and a drizzle of syrup (cant eat it without). Walked to school and back so 20 minutes.
Am hoping to go for a swim later Smile

darth im really shocked at your post, surely your ability to train people and face the public has nothing to do with make up and hair.

It is mosscops, in L5 and L4 with attendant fractures and complete agony. I need a spinal fusion but am scared plus cant afford the time. I can barely walk now (or sleep or sit Sad)

Last week I had my long hair (sam Cameron non-stylee) cut off into a short n spiky cut and had my eyebows threaded. I've always had good skin - no wrinkles at 43, but since the spinal issue (I use a wheelchir) my tone has gone, my tummy is flabby and a stone has gone on.
Luckily I dont have to face people as a SAH (and am at arse height in a wheelchair anyhow)

KalSkirata · 13/03/2012 09:53

no treatment for the sponyolisis apart from this suggested operation. There's no physio or anything useful in this area

mosschops30 · 13/03/2012 10:16

Oh kal i really feel for you, sounds like agony. Why dont you want to have the op? Got to be better than being in constant pain Sad there is nothing worse

Hows everyone getting on?
Ive been good on the food front, had boiled eggs and wholemeal soldiers for lunch, then chicken breast with roasted veg for dinner.
Have drunk loads of water.
Didnt get to go for a swim too much to do.
Worse time for me now when the kids go to bed, might go to bed early just so i dont eat!

KalSkirata · 13/03/2012 20:23

followed slimming world plan all day but not enough water. Darent drink lots now or I'll be on the loo all night!

mosschops30 · 14/03/2012 17:27

Hey where is everyone? Smile
i have been good today, suprisingly as i spent most of it cooped up in a room being stressed out my mind!
Finally got to have lunch at 2pm, chicken wholemeal sarnie. About to have cooked ham, homemade oven chips and peas for dinner.

Nit a scrap of exercise or enough water today!

feeling despondant. I've been so good but no weight is coming off and my tummy is bloated permanently. I am having a blood test for thyroid asap cos of tiredness/dry skin etc

ppeatfruit · 16/03/2012 12:58

KalskirataHave you ever thought you could be intolerant to wheat? A new book is out called Wheat Belly by William Davis which is very enlightening even whole wheat can badly affect some people's health and temper. (IMO and E) also.

KalSkirata · 16/03/2012 15:30

I will look it up. Having my thyroid tested too as Im tired with dry flaky skin.
