...now I have lost some chub off my double chin, the skin underneath, in the wrong light, looks 'crepey'. Does the skin tighten up after a while or am I too old (early forties) for this to happen?

Well, no one can definitively answer that one for you I'm afraid. Sorry!

How overweight are you? What I am getting at is... do you actually need to lose weight or are you just at the upper ends of your ideal weight? if it is the latter, then yes, you may find the fat comes from places like this.

In any case, invest in a good moisturiser in the mean time [ Elemis pro Collagen marine cream is very good ]

I had 5 stone to lose, lost 3 stone so far so i'm not sure what it's going to be like if I lose anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have a crepey chin than a double one, I'll give the moisturiser a go, thanks.

So still a couple of stone to go? Hmm, that's not too much- you'll be there in time for summer!

Yes, I would moisturise twice a day and maybe revise your target weight.

And make sure you continue to drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated.

use facecream with collagen in it which will help plump the skin and stop it looking so crepey. Prob best to go into a dept store and check out what's on offer...

If you find out about any creams can you let me know as I have just lost four and a half stone and just started to notice the area around my mouth looks a bit iffy now? I am early 40s.
Well done on your weight loss.

Elemis pro collagen is the best- Ive used it for years now and I have not one line or wrinkle and im 40.

DizzyDummy · 13/03/2012 18:55

good luck dizzy!

I think skin can improve (esp with cream) but i don't think it'll ever be as good as it would have been had you not been overweight. i have a crepey tummy due to 3 pregnancies.
