Can't you join the meeting then and you'll get the proper app for free. It's £14.95 for the first month and £19.99 thereafter. The app is amazing.

I have just got an iphone.

TBH it;s not as good as android, if you are cheap like me Wink They charge for everything I used to be able to get for free...

sparklesandwine · 12/03/2012 14:34

Yeah I have joined before but the meeting times just didn't suit and I found I wasn't going at all so it was a waste of money....I am contemplating joining ww online but wanted to see if I could find something similar to save a bit if cash Wink

Is there not another meeting? There are about a million round here. If you live in Manchester come to mine! Wink

Myfitnesspal app is great AND free?

sparklesandwine · 12/03/2012 17:36

foreveronadiet I did the MFP app for about 4 weeks sticking to 1200 cals (almost) religiously and didnt loose more than 2lbs...which is why i gave up and changed back to ww

The only meetings near me are in the evenings and my dp isn't home to look after the dc, the only morning meeting round here is on a sunday and i work then

I'm giving myself 4 weeks to do it on my own and if I'm not getting anywhere by then I'll think about joining WW online

I've got an app that supports points and has a barcode scanner. It's called value diary. It wasn't free, but was under ?3. ( I think)

sparklesandwine · 16/03/2012 20:26

That's great I'll check it out, thank you Smile

The ultimate weightwatchers diary, is the one i have. I got it free last year but i think its £2.99 now. Has a barcode scanner, diary, calculator etc. Very good the database isn't the best. Use the calculator alot!

foreverondiet · 18/03/2012 14:42

sparkles - do mfp and set the protein / carb / fat ratio to 30% / 40% / 30% and add fibre and sugar. Don't go over on carbs or sugar and try to reach protein target.

Problem with myfitnesspal (calorie counting) is that it doesn't dictate the quality of the calories which is very important!

And anyway 2lb weight loss a week is good! I lost 4 stone and only lost more than 2lb in the first 2 weeks.

sparklesandwine · 21/03/2012 09:54

foreveronadiet I lost 2lbs in the whole 4 weeks I was doing it not 2lbs a week! Grin

Back on WW and its working so far....

Ah, but as I said above I now am a big believer in quality over quantity of calories. I am sure I could gain on 1200 if it was just pasta and chocolate. If ww is working then fine.
