my fitness pal 1200 calories

is any one doing the 1200 calories?

if so how do you stick to it
what foods do you eat?

I find it very easy to stick to so long as I avoid carbs and anything sweet!

Breakfast is either porridge with low fat yoghurt in, mushrooms and bacon on toast, scrambled eggs and salmon.
Lunch is salad and fish or chicken
Tea is salad and fish.

Hello, forgive me for cutting in on your thread, but intrigued by what you've said so far...so is this just 1200 calls a day or does the menu have to be specific as listed by Digbert?

it does not give menu (well i haven't found any lol)
but i am struggling to keep under 1200
i have slimfast for lunch
2 snacks
dinner
and alot of tea but i am not sure if i should be adding it or not

Yes you need to include drinks. Cup of tea with semi skimmed milk is 20 calories. A take-away cappucino is 71 - it all adds up quickly,

Today - 1200 calories:
Breakfast - Porridge
Lunch - 2 quorn burgers with cheese and jalepenos (no bun) and salad
Dinner - home made chicken and apricot stew

Drinks - 3 cups of tea and 1 coffee plus lots of water.
Snack - 4 crab sticks, 2 oatcakes

11 calories spare.

my breakfast is a latte made with skimmed milk 275 calories maybe i'll cut that out lol

Swap to tea or Americano - its the milk fat that makes it so heavy on the calories.

It's not so specific- but I know now what my low cal meal options are. Mostly salad. I have lost half a stone in 3 weeks. I can't believe how many calories are in such small amounts of some foods.

I add all my drinks from water to green tea. Green tea has calories albeit only 3 per cup. I add everything I've consumed, liquid or solid plus exercise.

I'm on 1200 calories. I eat bran flakes with skim milj, an eggwhite omelette with spinach or poached eggs on wholemeal toast for breakfast. Lunch is tuna pasta, tuna salad, chicken salad etc. Dinner is usually quinoa or jacket potato with chicken or fish and a side salad. Snacks? Apples, pears, cashew nuts, yogurt etc.

Pasta always shocked me, how high cals it is! I used to do Rosemary Conley which has a 1200 cals for two weeks as a kick start then you get your allowance based on your stats. Perhaps take a look at one of her books? Plenty of meal ideas and they are low gi too, keeps you fuller for longer.

I used to have - bran flakes or all bran with a probiotic yoghurt over it (don't like milk!), 2 slices wholegrain bread with either a small portion beans or couple of slices of ham then a small salad, can of soup with a rivita or something bready. Or turkey rashers dry fried with a bag of stir-fry veg and wholemeal noodles. Snacks of small fruit or fat-free yoghurts.

I find it hard some days and others i have loads left to munch with Wink

I have toast for breakfast most mornings, mid morning snack of a teacake or some fruit, lunch 1 piece of bread with cheese and pickle or tuna, with salad, afternoon snack of glass of pepsi
Dinner, some meat and veg Grin or pasta or something substantial with veg and salad.

Then if i have any left on the evenings i munch on some crisps or something naughty!
