Hiya Furball thanks for the chart, I'm 15st 10 this week

Not good enough though, I'm going to have to start exercising and cutting back on the weekend wine.

SleepyJess · 26/01/2006 10:19

Hi Furball

I have lost 4 and a half pounds this week but weighed in at 11 stone 11 and
a half lbs last week when I started Slimming world. I am now 11 seven which
will not show on the chart as a four and a half pound loss obviously.

Sorry for the discrepency/confusion! Weighday/slimming club for me is Wednesday night so sorry to cock the system up.

SJ x

figleaf · 27/01/2006 10:03

Furball and gang Ive sent the pdf version of the chart. Bit of a flap on last night so Ive just noticed I didnt send it with any message - hope this didnt seem rude.

Really tired today, the sort of day when Id resort to comfort food - Im trying to resist though.

tangerinecath · 27/01/2006 10:48

Don't worry Figleaf it didn't seem rude at all. We all appreciate you doing this for us

As for comfort food - perhaps an Options chocolate drink might help without too much damage??? I find them really nice when I need a choccy fix and if I'm feeling really naughty then I'll put a drop of milk in too which makes it extra creamy.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 27/01/2006 12:40

well.... i think i need new scales!

we have started a weigh in thing at toddlers on a friday - last friday i weighed in at 12st, today i weighed in at 11st 7lbs! Thats a 7lb loss in a week where i havent tried overly hard???

tangerinecath · 27/01/2006 13:02

Can I borrow those scales next Tuesday JARM?

TambaTheInnocentPrincess · 27/01/2006 13:06

Sorry I am late with my weigh in.

My scales are showing 11.10 today but i think i need some new ones as they swing between 11.10 and 12st.

bubblerock · 27/01/2006 13:08

Thanks Figgy - I didn't even notice the lack of message, was quite shocked by how few were now on the chart though - have they done so well they have faded away???

J&RM - great result, even if it is dodgy scales!!

Yesterdays food (I'm having cereal for lunch as DS is keeping me up in the night, so I sleep through breakfast)-

cereal & semi skimmed milk
2 oatcakes
sultanas
6 cups of tea
tesco healthy eating chicken tikka (took the chicken out though) and some healthy eating oven chips.
ww strawberry cheesecake

The Tesco stuff has loads of info on now to help dieting, I was really impressed, they even add up weightwatchers points on their HE ready meals.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 27/01/2006 13:09

ill bet next week it will show 12st 7lbs though!!!

We will see.... these are brand new scales that the toddler group leader bought - i like them!

We all pay 50p and whoever loses the most each week takes the money! I got £3 today! WOO HOO!

tangerinecath · 27/01/2006 13:43

Bubblerock glad you like the new Tesco labels, I work for a company that supplies stuff to Tesco and it's been my job for the last 6 months to get all the information on the labels right! Nice to know it's not all been in vain.

I'm a bit of an expert in nutrition and food labelling, so why am I 5 st overweight??

teacups · 27/01/2006 14:38

Thank you for sending the charts and for all your hard work figgy and furball. It is much appreciated .

I have been bad ladies. I went out with an old mate last night and drank myself silly. Really silly. Plastered when I got home and didn't remember much until my dh filled me in on my, er, antics in the morning . Had to have slice of quiche, latte, croissant and 5 biscuits to try to get rid of my hangover. Am a complete distater on the dieting stakes this week.

But it was bloody good fun .

Anyone got anything planned for the weekend? It'll be a quiet one chez teacups as I'll need a couple of days to recover.

busywizzy · 27/01/2006 21:24

I've had a horrid couple of weeks as DH's father passed away suddenly last Monday DH went up and down to Birmingham all week (we live in Hampshire) and then we farmed the children out for a couple of days this week whilst we both went up for the funeral.

Diet has gone out of the window as we've been eating whatever is quick, whenever we get a chance, although I've tried to still be as good as I can whilst not eating 'proper' meals. However no exercise at all so I'm not expecting any weight loss this week (only 1lb last week) and have fingers crossed that I haven't actually put any on.

This weekend it is my DD's and DH's birthdays which I'm trying to make a bit special as they've both had a tough time of it - which is bound to result in lashings of chocolate cake which I will do my best to resist

Good luck for the weekend everyone - they're always the hardest time aren't they.

Oh and thank you Figgy and Furball for the charts. I'm still finding them really motivating

oh dear what a bad couple of days i have had. Went to the parents and stayed there for a couple of days, and tried so very hard to be good but mum made a pavlova for lunch on saturday, and I just couldn't resist. Then last night went to a party and got terriably drunk, and then had Mcdonalds for breakfast just to get over the hangover. On the up side I have drunk so much water today that i should be drowning in it.

DH as brought home an elipitical Trainer so I shall be using that everyday.

Hope you all had a good weekend!! Thank you for the congrats furball I only hope that I will be able to keep it up.

unicorn · 29/01/2006 11:14

not a very good last few days I'm afraid.
ds had his 4th birthday - I made a cake, and how could I resist the chocolatey icing?

Still no alcohol though, and it's nearly the end of January! I think I will just continue as I am not finding it hard at all, and it must be better for me.

Exercise is what I must do next.
Swimming is a possible it is just this cold weather that puts me off.
Can anyone persuade me to go (2x) next week?

So sorry to hear about your father in law busywizzy. How is your dh and how are you?

agree that the weekend is the most difficult. Met a friend for lunch yesterday as dh was out at his art class and had sausage sandwich plus a couple of bottles of beer . Supper was takeaway so all in all I think the chances of me doing anything but gaining a few lbs are nil.

However, back to work tomorrow and less opportunity to stuff my face there. January is nearly over and at least I am still thinking about food in a good way some of the time, rather than stuffing my face the entire time . Am flicking through a couple of spring catalogues and think I might buy something in a smaller size as an incentive to stick at it! Has anyone got any other motivational tips for staying on the straight and narrow over the next few weeks?

XX

busywizzy · 29/01/2006 20:33

Feel like we are pretty much back to normal now after the past two weeks (thanks for everyone's kind words) so will try and get back on the diet and exercise bandwagon tomorrow.

I was really good today though. DD had a big, gooey chocolate cake for her party and I cut it into exactly the right amount of pieces for all the children who were there so none came home with us and I didn't eat a single piece

It's DH's birthday today so I may give into a glass of wine later this evening (I think it's the least we both deserve ) but will be strict again from tomorrow.

How has everyone else done this weekend?

tangerinecath · 30/01/2006 12:39

Had a great (but bad!) weekend, we had visitors over on Saturday so we pigged out on Chinese takeaway and wine. My friend (one of the visitors) has just announced she is pg so this was the cause of much celebrating - of the orange juice variety for her though!

Hopefully it won't cause too much damage as I've been an angel the rest of the week [sceptical emoticon]

We'll find out tomorrow, won't we

HeavyBee · 30/01/2006 14:33

I often wonder, why don't we achieve "minus pounds" when we get those desperate chocolate cake moments and DON'T succumb to temptation? Our village shop sells wonderful cake and on the way back from school when we buy the milk or whatever I have to fight really hard not to buy cake. This successful battle never shows on the scales. I suppose I'd just be completely spherical instead of losing weight by what feels like a quarter ounce every other week. Sigh....

tortoise · 30/01/2006 16:35
