Perhaps that's why VLCD are a bad idea?

The brain does consume a huge amount of energy just to keep ticking over. The trouble with most diets is that they are unsustainable. They come to an end. What there needs to be is changes which just become routine. It takes a huge effort and time to change a habit. And a lot of support!

I don't agree about diets coming to an end.

I started my "diet" in October 2010 - I was 12 stone 5 post pregnancy, not attractive as I'm 5 4. I changed the way I eat and not just the quantities.

Its a diet for life, its healthy and its sustainable. I hate the idea of any diet which advocates the use of "diet foods". Whilst I do eat low fat dairy etc I would never touch any processed diet product (thinking weightwatchers). If I want a kitkat I eat it, just not every day.
