I just can't decide, I am currently listening to Paul mckenna every night and have been for nearly a week, but I don't feel like I am even trying to follow the rules :( I have got the low gi book and wonder if I should try it as I have polysystic overies and low gi is meant to be good for managing that.

can only comment on WW

there's 2 ways to do WW
1: continue with shite habbits but buy low point versions with sweetners and crap in it.
2: switch your palate and habits to less processed sugary/carbs and eat filling lean protein and bulk with veg for your points.

I've done both, with 1 I lost a lot of weight fast, put it all back on and more. Felt grumpy and dizzy on it, no energy

with 2 I lost slowely, sometimes 0.5lbs a week but it stayed off for a long time (until pregnancy) with no effort and I wasn't hungry and felt great

now here's the thing, to do WW "right" you basically have to follow another diet within WW (like clean and lean, or jillian michaels, or atkins) AND still faff with point counting, when you could just follow a good healthy diet of less processed crap and more lean protein and veg, and that way your appetite would control itself and you wouldn't have to count points and bore the arse off everyone and pay WW a small fortune.

I'll never do WW again! They're not about health at all, my last group was all about how to earn wine points and what chocolate is lowest points (creme eggs etc) and chewing on merangue nests - those people will yo yo forever!

sort your lifestyle and metabolism out and the calories will count themselves.

That's the problem. The yoyo dieting, I think Paul mck and low gi are not diets and therefore will be s better way of loosing weight and keeping it off.

in that case WW would be a bit of a gamble for you IMO, you could go down either route and your local group could tend one way or the other.. and it's an expensive gamble it adds up!!

I love Clean and Lean and it has an element of CBT (mckennaness) to it in that by the end of the book you are a bit repelled by processed food and refined sugar. Jillian Michaels Master you Metabolism does the same in more detail.

its really the only way to go IMO in the long term (or something similar). i can see now that when I did WW well I was doing clean and lean, and when I did it wrong I was doing the opposite, so now I'll cut the middle man and go straight for the healthy non-diet type diets/lifestyles and keep my cash away from WW

low GI would again be a similar thing to Clean and Lean and Jillian M.

anything that you can do long term, for the rest of your life, and that makes your body healthy as well as slim instead of just weighing less.

WW CAN be that for some, but it can be meringue next and aspartaime fest for others

Thank you for the reply, is it jillian micheals the lady that done the shred dvd?

I just feel so confused as to what to do, as i want to loose weight quickly but also want to keep it off.

in my own experience (might be different for different bodies) it is difficult to do both, if you loose too fast you go into starvation mode and any little slip up adds POUNDS, but if you loose slower it stays off because you can indulge occassionally so long as you're sensibe the rest of the time without your body panicing and clinging onto any food it gets

Ever thought of SW?
