Anyone thinking of doing this?

Noone? Sad

I don't really care about a six pack. I try to keep a toned pelvic floor and stable core but that's it. I just need to lose weight generally, once I do that my tum will be slim anyway.

serotoninbutterfly · 09/01/2012 15:36

I'm not really wanting to look like a body builder but I naturally carry weight on my stomach anyway, so want to seriously target that area. Just wanted to see if anyone else was interested!!

Its not just a 6 pack workout it also has quite a bit of cardio involved too. Last week I started doing Ripped in 30 6 days a week and 6 week 6 pack and Killer buns and thighs 3 times each and though I have lost less than a lb I dropped 3 inches from my belly. It comes in at the 35 min mark and other than 1 move I find it an enjoyable workout and the fact that you can pick it up on Amazon for £6.29 I would say if you dont have it its worth a go.

I did this last year for 6 weeks and then every now and then, and it was excellent. My tummy was toned, I had an outline of a 4 pack ( never quite made the 6 ) and lost weight too. I find all Gillian's workouts great, but can get a bit bored, so having a variety to choose from really keeps the motivation going ! On Day 2 of her latest one, Ripped in 30 and whilst I can't see me being 'ripped' in that time, I know I will look a lot more toned than I do right now, after too much indulgence over Xmas. Good luck and enjoy xx

I've got this. I find it sooo hard. I'm fairly fit, run regularly but I have very poor core strength. I did it for a while and I definately found myself getting stronger, but I prefer doing her kettle bell workout or shred so I tend to stick to those but I know I should go back to it, if only just to mix up the workouts a bit.

wherearemysocks · 09/01/2012 17:13

I haven't tried the ripped in 30 - do you think its worth getting?

serotoninbutterfly · 09/01/2012 17:30

Just started the shred, on L1D3 but fancy something else, will give it a go tonight Grin
Ripped in 30 might be a step too far...

Did it today for the first time - miles harder than the shred! Literally sweating buckets, faster paced than the shred and seems quicker (although slightly longer!)

Definitely recommend it Grin

I've got it and have done the routine about 5 times in the last 3 weeks, but really struggling to make time for it, I am out of the house commuting and at work 8-6 every day. Do you think it is worthwhile doing it just at the weekend?

serotoninbutterfly · 09/01/2012 21:11

Any exercise done at all has to be worth it, I'm aiming to shred 5 days out of 7, do 6pack 3 times a week, and couch to 5k three times a week. But I generally have at least an hour in the day and in the evening most days (p/t shift work) so can fit it in around DS sleeping etc.

Actually just stopped whinging and got on with it - might use this thread to keep a count and motivate myself, day 1 of this week done Grin

6 weeks x 5 sessions =30 sessions, I've done 6 so 24 to go!

2bayumimum · 09/01/2012 21:54

I'm only on week 1 of Ripped and personally find it easier than Shred, altho longer, but expect a v rude awakening when I move up to next week ! As with all Gillian's DVDs, definitely worth getting and hoping to see some good ( even great Smile results ) x

serotoninbutterfly · 09/01/2012 21:55

Well done! Does it get easier? I was literally gasping and sweating at the end of it! Grin
Have you much weight to shift?

I managed to fit in a session of 6w6p this morning, so 7 down now. I think I may be just seeing a hint of definition on my abdomen, or do you think it is the placebo effect?
I modified some of the moves as my knees are sore, I think it is the lunges causing it, and I just can't do the side plank, my arms aren't stong enough to support me, let alone do the leg move as well, so I am trying to get up on my elbow and hold for a few seconds for now.
Have you done any more sessions Serotonin? can you do all the moves?

Bproud · 15/01/2012 08:50

Logging another session done yesterday, makes 8/30, slow progress, but owt is better than nowt. Feeling a bit lonely here though Grin

Great! Another victim training partner. There is cardio as well as toning, so Iam sure you will see results. I have lost a bit of weight, but not a spring chicken, but I am getting a sense of aceivement from it.

Bproud · 15/01/2012 20:08

Oops, sorry about the typos Grin

JingleBellsTootaSmells · 15/01/2012 20:16

I've done this twice last week, as well as a 5.5mi run and one lot of Blast Fat Boost Metabolism - find it quite hard, I much prefer cardio to strength work so may have to steal my 30ds back off my sister! Just seen some holiday pics of an old colleague looking amazerbeams in a bikini and suddenly feeling very Envy and kind of deflated Sad

How are others finding 6w6p?

2bayumimum · 17/01/2012 14:31

Just an update on Ripped in 30 - as I feared Week 2 is A LOT harder. I think it will all bring great results, but boy do I hurt ! Going to try and add in 6week6pack a few times in the evening this week, if I can find the energy...Gillian is v motivating though ! x

Bproud · 17/01/2012 21:06

Sitting watching the 'fat' programmes on TV and feeling guilty for not moving, not enough to actually do anything though...
