i am on weight watchers and doing ok, but my allowance is 22, i am only using 17 to 18 points, sometimes i do go to 22 but not often, i know i should have a treat and use the points up but i feel like i dont want to, so my question is.....by only using 17 to 18 points will i be losing weight more or not? surely i am having less calories in a day.

I would go up to your full points, or maybe save up points for a meal out, as I think if you get too used to eating less, then it makes it harder for you to maintain your weight when you stop dieting so strictly.

emkana · 13/01/2006 09:51

I think they say that you should always aim to use up all your points because otherwise your body goes into starvation mode and slows down weight loss or something.
How about if you save them up over a couple of days and then pig out every few days? You're allowed to do that?

Don't know how you manage to stick at 18 btw, I had 30 because I was b/feeding and still felt hungry some days!

lucykatie · 13/01/2006 09:54

tried ww before and struggled with hunger....this time its so different, only lost 3 pound last week though!!!

i buy alot of the tesco healthy living range which i find fab, and they have the points on the back, even though i do still check with ww online, i sometimes add veg etc.

is there a way you can work out how many points you should eat per day to lose weight, or would I need to join to find out?

lucykatie · 13/01/2006 22:16

THERE IS A WAY, but i am not sure how to calculate it.

its all to do with age height weight and liestyle i think

WOW! Dior! What area are you a leader?

Janbo25 · 15/01/2006 11:04

I am going to try the points I think first as I have lots of weight to lose the amount o fpoints i have will be a lot so i will be able to manage with them without feeling deprived, it helps that tesco healthy living now print the points on the pack of each pack.

I am still trying to find a promotional code to sign up to weight watchers online

anniebear · 15/01/2006 15:24

You can save I think on a weekly basis but should use or you wreck your metabolism and you make a rod for your own back. Plus, on full points your points drop periodically and you won't get the effect otherwise.

Janbo25 · 15/01/2006 20:07

apparently if you buy the claire sweeney excercise dvd in association with weight watchers you get a free £10 voucher for the online weight watchers

Blimey I have started weight watchers today and I feel like I am eating more than i normally would today this is what I have had so far:

1 teaspoon Dairy Crest Clover
2 slice Weight Watchers Sliced White Bread
1 portion Quaker Jumbo Snack a Jacks, chocolate delight
1 heaped teaspoon Hartley's Best Jam, all flavours

Lunch

1 pack Tesco Healthy Living Beef Lasagne

1 standard bag Cadbury's Buttons

and that only equals 13 points and I have got 24 to have!!
