Christmas weight gain - water or actual weight?

I've been calorie counting (1200 kcal/day) since August. I haven't counted for the past 4 days (with relatives), and have come back to a +3 lb since 4 days ago. Is this likely to be water, or actual weight?

I came back from the in laws almost 5 pounds up - I definitely didn't eat 17,000 extra calories in three days so I think it's mostly water weight. I dropped nearly two pounds overnight so I'm hoping the rest will come off quite quickly.

Just go back to what you were doing. It'll settle back.

Don't worry, I was 10 stone 9 on boxing day, a couple of days later with sensible eating its back down to 10 5!

thank god its not just me.
went from 11.1 to 11.5 in a week!!

I am hoping that it is water weight! I was 10 stone 10 today, and hoping that tomorrow I might have gone down a bit again!

Same here, five pound gain in two days! However been back on track for subsequent two days and four of the five pounds gone already. If you were previously low carbing as well as calorie counting you can pretty much guarantee water gain when you digress.

However I may well have eaten 17000 extra calories in choc alone. Shock
