Weight loss chat

A space to talk openly about weight loss journeys and challenges. Mumsnet hasn't checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. You may wish to speak to a medical professional before starting any diet.

Has anyone joined a weight loss group for the support rather than the diet?

I need to lose lots of weight. I know lots about nutrition and calories and exercise but I am not doing very well on my own. So I was wondering if I joined a group like Slimming world or weight watchers or Rosemary conley etc for the support side of losing weight rather than the prescribed diet. Would this work? Or would I feel like I needed to follow their diets to join in?
Would I be allowed? Am I just wasting my money?

Tbh I am a bit stuck about the whole thing. I have been using mfp online which I have found helpful but I have no friends on there so there isn't anyone to moan to when I am struggling or cheer me on either. I just feel like I could do with some real life kicks up the bum now and then Grin
