I wanted to swear but thought I would get bollocked.

I have eaten far more than necessary this evening and it is highly possible I will eat more. I have convinced myself I have had food issues for years and why but it turns out the reason is not what I thought it was. Fcuk.

I need to lose at least 3 stone. Any one help an idiot when it comes to losing weight who can't stick at exercise for long enough and is just wasting her life being fat?

Hi op. I've eaten far too much tonight but have been quite succesful with my weight loss since August. Slow and steady. Am really enjoying getting (slowly) slimmer. Am happy to tell you what I've been doing.

Always been overweight and up and down. Lightest was 10st when i got married, in 2006 I'm 5ft 2 so still cuddly at 10 stone
3 babies later I was 12 stone 10 in August and feeling pretty shitty nothing fit and I carry it all in the middle. Nice skinny legs but great big tum. Still bf dc3 so stated at 1850 cals a day, used myfitnesspal and recorded everything that passed my lips, inc milk in coffee etc.
Lost about 0.5-1 a week.
Now on 1600 a day.
Am now 11 stone so getting somewhere.
Started running last month, C25K and am really enjoying it. Try it. Honestly. If nothing else you can get away and be alone a while.
I hate it when I'm at my top weight. So self conscious and just don't feel like myself.

My son kept commenting on my body and my weight (in that cute innocent 4yo way) and it made me want to sort it out.
Sorry if tmi. Xmas Smile

Hi there - I've needed to lose about 4 stone for as long as I can remember and it's finally coming off - slow and steady- with going to Slimming World (or fat club as it's known in our house). I've lost 31lbs so far - another couple of stone to go.... Dp's also lost 2 stone and looks amazing and is pretty much down to her ideal weight.

Can definitely recommend it as a sensible eating plan. Basically low fat high protein sensible amount of carbs. I have a small bowl of cereal for breakfast, low fat yoghurt + fruit for lunch and a nice big tea for tea. At the weekends I can go a bit bonkers with wine and still lose about 1lb a week.

Happy to witter on more - from a permanently overweight person I feel for the first time like it might be possible one day to squeeze fit into a size 14..!

I am convinced the weight gain is from being on anti depressants. I had my baby and BF him until he was 10 months but was losing the weight. I went on AD's when he was a year and put 2 stone on without doing anything different. My AD GP won't believe me but I know it is true and that is part of the reason I want to come off them. I was fine about being on them for life but now I just don't want to spend my life on drugs, especially when they don't help the main issues and I want to look at more natural ways with coping. I take Agnus Castus too and know it works as I see the difference when I forget to take it. Part of the weight gain is from my breasts ffs. Thay grow constantly and I am sick of not being able to get a bra that fits.

I just don't have a clue about what I need to eat to get through the day. I will spend hours and whatever money planning and buying food for the kids and then forget about dh and I. I buy all the fruit they want and then not have any myself as I feel I an taking it from them [stupid person emoticon].

I know what you mean about putting the dcs first though. I often find myself doing that and then eating crap myself. Recently I have made a big effort to buy things that I like and are good for me. I told myself that I would just be wasting money on junk food so instead I would spend the money on good treats for me. I make sure i have my favourite yoghurts in the fridge and also some grapes which I keep hidden.

I do still feel a little guilty but my diet has improved and I do eat less crap although this weekend has seen me consume too much lager and too many crisps and cake especially in the evenings.

When I started doing the Pig to Twig I spent over £20 on vitamins but saw it as an investment in myself. I just need to think about that I guess.

I had an idea. I thought I would walk for 30 minutes and then come home so I would get an hours exercise. DH seemed to think I was bonkers. Then it has been bitterly cold so I was wondering if the same time of walking up and down the stairs would have the same effect.

I can't really run at the moment but I can walk fast Grin.

I think walking is fine. I know I am too fat too run but I enjoy walking. Last week we looked after the mil's dog for a few days and I really enjoyed the evening walk. Going out about 8pm and having a nosy into other houses seeing houses decorated for Christmas was nice and I lost a few pounds too.

Now I would feel very silly going for a walk without the dog as an excuse though.

TheOriginalFAB · 11/12/2011 09:40

DH and I planned to send the kids to his parents and go for a long walk on our own. Doesn't look like that is going to happen now.

I still can't get into exercising - even though I know it would speed up the weight loss, it still seems a step too far..!

I take 2 plums and a satsuma to work for lunch every day to have with my low fat yog - that sees me through. Weekends I'll make an omelette for lunch with ham/onion/potato - whatever's in the fridge.

If you like fruit, up the amount you buy and portion it out each day for lunch. Then lots of eggs and meat for tea and weekends.

Mind you, having just come back from a friend's birthday tea where I ate 2 scones with clotted cream and jam plus about 4 macaroons, I'm really not the best person to be offering advice... Starting again tomorrow!

TheOriginalFAB · 11/12/2011 16:36

I have been feeling sick for days too and don't feel hungry but feel I want to eat crisps and mince pies to settle my stomach.
