Just bought myself a banana. A banana.

OK, so this is what I have eaten today:

2 x orange & mango smoothies
1 x orange, apple, lemon & ginger freshly squeezed juice
1 x small bag of carrots
1 x small tub of houmous
1 x banana (felt hungry - didn't buy chocolate)
1 x carrot, lentil & celery soup (homemade - for dinner tonight).

This is what I have normally eaten by this time:

4 x slices toast & jam
1 x pasta from the cafe downstairs
1 x packet of biscuits
1 x takeway (for dinner - usually pizza or chicken & chips).

I have never in my whole entire life eaten so healthily as I have today. I am really proud of myself. I know this is a pointless, indulgent thread, but I just wanted to share. Thanks for listening.

I'm glad I'm not sharing a bed with you tonight!

Grin

Well done though, OP :)

Well done for not eating all that crap- but don't forget to eat some protein. It will fill you up for longer than smoothies etc

colditz · 27/11/2011 13:45

I wouldn't call what you have eaten today healthy because it's not balanced, not if you are going to carry on in the same vein. You need to add some protein, some fat, and some non-sugar carbohydrate, pronto, and BTW - be prepared for a stomach ache tomorrow! [grin[

Farts, love. Farts

Sad

I've never really eaten fruit before, I have an aversion to it. However I then found that I could drink it, hence the smoothies & juice.

Had intended to buy some bacon to throw in the lentil soup, but the pork room was closed.

Feel a bit miserable now...

Don't feel miserable! This could be the first day of your new healthy life!

Am intrigued by the 'pork room' though

debka · 27/11/2011 13:57

O sorry Marie, I was being facetious, well done you for getting all those vitamins down you. Don't feel bad. You can eat the best most pefect diet in the world and someone will find something about it to criticise. xxx

Very well done, but I agree best not to have that much fruit juice and smoothies each day as its very high in fruit sugar and unlike eating the whole fruit very low in fibre. If you can't eat fruit aim for one serving of fruit juice a day max (actually no need to eat fruit at all on a diet), and try and eat more protein, some (healthy) fat and some complex carbs.
