Hi been on a low carb (well no carb) for 4 days and I am feeling horribly depressed, irritable and tearful. has anyone else experienced this? Is it the diet? When you feel like this it is hard to take an objective view. Help please

PS I am really hating this diet, but feeling desperate too.

It's more the lack of energy which is a result of lack of carbs
If by dropping carbs you're dropping pure carbs ie bread pasta etc rather than Atkins style try increasing things like chicken & bananas to still get a sugar/ protein energy boost
You'll get through this phase as your body adjusts then prob feel much much leaner/ cleaner etc

I experienced this for the first few days, but it lifted at about day 4/5 with me and I felt brilliant. Stick with it for a couple more days, and if your mood doesn't shift it sounds like it might not be for you.

I make sure I take a multi vitamin tablet with iron and an evening primrose supplement . I am sure these help.
