Had some blood tests 2 weeks ago to find out why I have every symptom of being pregnant yet not actually being so. Doc's discovered raised blood sugars which could be caused by my PCOS but heavily points to diabetes. Waiting on more tests to confirm. Im not shocked, (at 5ft 11, 21st 8lbs and 10 months post baby its not exactly a surprise.) just disppointed in myself for being such a cake fiend.
Dont get me wrong, Im not exactly the kind to eat fat with a side order of fat and a fat shake to wash it down- Im more likely to eat a homemade salmon and chilli stirfry than a big mac but Ive just steadily put on weight over the years. Ive tried slimming world, weightwatchers (6 months and walking 4 miles uphill a day, zero weightloss. Nada. Not an ounce.) and just eating healthily but I fall off the wagon after 4 weeks when I dont see any results.
So today I've started the south beach diet and taken my first Xenical (Orlistat). My fridge is stocked with tasty things like turkey and salmon steaks and the bottom half looks like I'm setting up a very cold greenhouse... I had a greek salad for lunch today, was actually quite nice given my genuine phobia of lettuce but the V8 juice was just rank!
Is anyone else on the South Beach? I'm hoping to get chatting to people to spur me on! No weight goal as such, but I am getting married in June and definitely dont want to be a size 26 bride :(
