Is it possible to diet when someone else cooks?

I could do with shedding a dress size or so - I just feel a bit heavy and my clothes are tight and I cba (and can't afford) to buy new ones.

BUT dh does most of the cooking (and if he isn't cooking, he is at work and I have two kids screaming and fighting so cook whatever is easy and quick)

DH refuses to do any silly diet stuff (as he sees it) and cooks from scratch.

Is there any hope?

(I also comfort eat quite a bit, and snack, because DH does tiny tiny portion sizes - I like veg but he goes for small bits of meat instead of lots of veg)

he is controlling your food for a start - so tell him to fuck off with that,

the only answer is effort - you get out what you put in. if you want to diet and do it quick and easy =pre prepare your food and freeze it. excersise - yes even with children etc.

Well, he doesn't ban me from making my own food, I'm just too lazy, and his is nicer. Grin

I have to be really careful with exercise and diet, as I am bipolar and too much exercise/a sudden change in diet has set me off on a mania in the past. (Sorry, should have said that)

Cooking from scratch should make dieting easier, not more difficult, as you control how much fat/sugar is in your food. If you like lots of veg then just do more. If it's DH doing the cooking, just ask him to do more or step into the kitchen yourself and chuck some more peas/broccoli/cauliflower in the pan. Use Fry Light instead of oil. Live on jacket potatoes and pasta for lunches.

You can tell I've done SW, can't you!Grin
