I need to lose 4.5 stones. I've had success on Weightwatchers before, but I could only stick at it for about 8 weeks. I'm thinking I'd be more successful if there was a list of food that I just stop eating.

I love meat and fish, fruit, and I like veg, so I wonder whether something low on wheat and carbs could be the way to go.

What do you think?

How about trying Anna Richardson's Body Blitz? It's a two week plan initially where you lose 7lbs but you can carry it on as long as you need. It has 5 rules, no wheat, no dairy, no sugar, no alcohol and no eating after 6pm. Sounds hard but is actually pretty easy. Book has lots of recipes and she's quite pleasant too :-) I've done it and lost weight. Like you i wanted a plan that just avoided stuff not a plan of everything in moderation!

Thanks. You're right, it does sound really difficult! When you say no wheat, do you mean absolutely none (ie following a coeliac type diet)?

Erm... hang on, it might be no carbs not no wheat. i'm having breakfast right now, i'll find the book after and check for you! :-)

Right, it is no wheat. but i got a rule muddled. it's no carbs after 6. The no wheat means no biscuits, bread, pasta, cake, noodles, wheat cereals etc. so instead you can have rye bread, oats, rice and various beans. no dairy does allow you half a pint of milk a day for cereal and drinks. Any better sounding?! :-)
