This was my fav. when I did lo carb. - muffin in a minute, using flax seed. Can omit sugar and add cheese for more savory flavour.

TantePiste · 30/10/2011 10:20

cubes of cheese has been working for me, sometimes with sausage.

I know what you mean, it's basically, eggs, eggs or eggs isn't it?

how about leftovers?

or atkins protein drinks are light and sweet (I like the coffee flavoured one).

Mushrooms. Yummy.

Kippers or some of those ready to eat mackerel fillets. Bit pongy but I try to have them at least once a week when I just can't face another bloody egg!

bishboschone · 30/10/2011 18:29

Ooh I like mackerel... I've never tried kippers ..isn't there loads of bones?

Are you allowed fruit on this diet? How about a fruit salad with honey and yoghurt?

Grilled bacon and grilled tomatoes?
Grilled bacon and garlic mushrooms?

Big glass of freshly pressed apple and carrot juice, or pear and ginger, and a handful of almonds?

Home made smoothie of bananas and yoghurt or milk with a drop of vanilla essence?

Poached smoked haddock on top of steamed spinach - sounds odd for breakfast but it's lovely.

Grilled pink grapefruit halves and a massive cup of coffee with hot milk?

mejon · 30/10/2011 22:19

I buy those vacuum packed packets of kippers. The bones are pretty small and soft so you tend not to notice them. Not sure if fresh ones would be more bony but I think you can buy de-boned ones.

It's even harder being a veggie and looking for a low carb option first thing in the morning!

I've been having Dukan galettes for breakfast this week which are basically a high protein, lowish carb pancake that helps keep you regular.

1.5 tablespoons of oat bran
1.5 tablespoons of greek yoghurt
1 medium egg (I'm assuming it's just eggs on their own you have a problem with)

Mix the ingredients together with a fork until they've formed a homogenous mixture then fry like a normal pancake. You don't want to spread the mix out too much or it will fall apart when you turn it over. I have it with 30g of low fat cream cheese and 30g of smoked salmon trimmings for a total of:
215 kcal
8g carbs
2g fiber
1g sugar
11g fat
23g protein

I hear you upahil

upahill · 18/11/2011 17:42

I'll give that a go Queen
Thanks
