I have been trying(?) to lose a stone for the last 2 months and failing miserably at the first hurdle! I have really struggled to stick to anything. But now I have decided that I really have got to do something before it gets to Christmas and all the excesses that it brings. I have started reasonably well today and just hope I can stick with it. I am not following a particular plan but am just trying to eat healthily - lots of fruit & veg and not too many carbs. Any support gladly received and if anyone wants to be a diet buddy I would be pleased to have the company!

Hi way2 can I be your buddy? I've got 2 stone to lose but would love it to be 1 stone by Christmas. My next goal is 23rd of May which is my 14th wedding anniversary & I want to get back into my wedding dress!
I plan to cut wine out during the week and like you just try to eat healthily!

Thanks for joining me Wakeup. I have had a reasonably good couple of days. I am realising that I eat when I am bored not when I am hungry. I eat far too much when I am not even hungry. So I am trying to distract myelf by having a drink or eating grapes / melon.
I am also terrible at jumping on the scales twice a day and then getting upset because I haven't lost anything. So again I am going to try to stop this habit.
Fortunately I don't drink but am addicted to chocolate!!
Hope you have had a good day Wakeup - you have a lovely reason to be motivated. I go married 18 months ago and would love to be back to my pre wedding weight.

Hi Way2 and Wakeup.
I too have 2 stone to shed and would really like to join you. I'm planning on eating what I know I should be eating and cutting out (most) of the rest. There is a lot of between meal snacking where I work esp if the stress levels get a bit high. I then snack in the evening when I'm sitting about in the evening by myself.
Well done on a good start for you both.
I'm going to do a good healthy lunch to take to work tomorrow.

Welcome imblet. I sympathise with you about the snacking during stress it's something I do. I am on holiday this week so the stress levels are low and manageable. Next week will be different! Hope the healthy lunch goes well.

Hi Way2 & welcome imblet! I too am on holiday this week so stress not too high either (am also a stress snacker) but as am on holiday I tend to think well why can't I relax & enjoy & have a drink or 2 Sad.
Do you have a weighin day in mind??

I was thinking of weighing in on a Monday or Tuesday but am happy to fit in with what everyone else wants to do.
I have managed to resist 'treating' myself this week and have also managed a couple of long walks - am aiming for another one tomorrow if it ever stops raining!!

Way 2, i think mon am will be good, my weeks's not been that great as on hol but next wk back to the routine should be better. How's your past few days gone?

Hi wakeup and imbit. Don't know if you are still going with this. I have had a pretty good few days. A couple of long walks and eating prettily healthily. TOM due this week and I always gain a couple of pounds and crave chocolate so the next few days could be a bit testing! I am aiming to try to get up early tomorrow and start the couch to 5k programme - I will let you know how I get on! I am back at work tomorrow and can already feel the stress levels increasing. I have had 2 small kitkats to get me through the evening! Good luck with the next few days.

Hi way2 & imbit, sorry been a bit quiet, been away for the weekend!How's it going back at work way2? I'm also due on any second and am STRUGGLING!!! Had good few days though but am having a virgin vie party this evening so hoping not to get too carried away with the old nibbles!!

I need to lose about 3st at least. I'm also aiming to lose a stone by Christmas. I've started myfitnesspal and so far it seems to suit me. I get weighed on a Wednesday with a few others so if you want another buddy I'd love to get involved and post my weightloss.

It's for recording food and exercise which seems to help me more than slimming world or weightwatchers
