How much weight do you have to lose to drop a dress size?

Currently a size 12-14 and need to fit an 8-10 bridesmaids dress.. I am about 10st (but short, 5 ft nothing) ... what do you reckon? Anyone know?

I guess it varies from person to person, but for me there seems to be about a stone between dress sizes.

I have put on one and half stones and gone up 2 dress sizes

I know this one!! 10lbs per dress size I learnt that at weight watchers!! I'm 5 ft 1 size 8-10 and I'm currently 9st 2 and bridesmaids dresses are bigger sizes in my experience but depends on body shape etc. I've lost 2 stone since May at weight watchers and would really recommend it!!

I think for me it goes in 5kg increments - so at 55kg am comfortably an 8, at 50 need smaller size. Few inches taller than you though.

I went from 9 1/2 to a little under 8 1/2 stone, that got me down from a 10-12 to about a 10. I'm slightly taller than you but not much!

Difficult to say as it depends on the style/fit of the dress, and your body shape, where you tend to lose/store fat etc. I would think you'd need to drop at least a stone though. How much time do you have?

I reckon grovermum is right, I have lost 10lb (to 10st 13lb, 5 ft 10) and dropped a size 14 to 12

I would say it depends on height.

I am 5 4. For me around a stone

At 12 7 was size 16
At 11 7 was size 14
At 10 7 was size 12
At 9 7 was a size 10
At 8 7 am a size 8.

About a stone. i have lost 3 stones and gone from a size 16-18 to a size 10-12.

Just over a stone for me, but I'm 5 ft 8
