Just curious as over the weekend I have been struggling to stay motivated but have had a "kick up the backside" with the following comments:
DC (age 3) "Mummy, you have a fat tummy, can you get rid of it please"
DC friend "you should buy some new clothes, you always wear the same few things"
ex-colleague "don't you hate shopping when you know everything is going to look sh*t on you"

Catching myself in a 3 way John Lewis mirror when trying on a size 14 dress that almost ripped as I places my bingo wings in them.
Stepped on scales that day, was 12.9, morning weight 12.7.
Also a photograph with my DS on his first day of nursery. I cried.

Started dukan...... Today I weigh 11.2 so am 19 lb lighter. 8 lb to go which I will do for Xmas. This is the most motivated I have ever been. Threads like this really help me.

What is MFP?

Wentworth I lost my blobby 2 stone on Dukan. It's tough, but Dukan does work (watch out for constipation though). The trouble was when I reached my target weight, and then I stopped. I thought I hadn't gone back to real life my old bad ways, but sadly soon saw that the new slimline clothes didn't fit me any more. Even though I never ate a lot of carbs in the evening, the weight had quickly slipped back on. I'm having to be really strict with myself now to lose the extra 10lbs.

Dukan's brilliant for shifting the weight. I just wish there was a post-Dukan diet that was more doable than the protein Thursday etc. I suppose it's probably called the "Not Eating Like a Pig" diet.

Mine is also the 'congratulations!!!' comments. I have lost a few pounds but need to lose at least a stone then I'll be size 12 which is a good size for me at 5ft 8.

Two things for me.
Firstly meeting up with my siblings at a funeral [sadly] and realising that I was the only obese one. Our late Dad had his 1st heart attack at 52 [one year older than I am now].
Secondly reading a thread on AIBU entitled 'why do fat people allow themselves to get so fat' or words to that effect. Yes it did give me a kick up the arse, though some people took offence.
I have lost 3 stones already and am now in the overweight category instead of being obese. Still have a couple of stones to go, but I intend to carry on eating healthily and exercising for the rest of my life [so long as I am able].
