The kids have just revived the Wii fit board.

I have recently lost over a 1.5st in 6m mainly due to depression. I would like to keep it off and if possible lose a bot more, but am starting to get my apetite back as I come out of my dark times.

I will find it hard to excercise as a newly single parent with childcare challenges. would the Wii fit actually help?

Wouldn't help with weight loss, I wouldn't have thought. It's not a very active thing.

Get zumba for the wii. It's a good work out, I'm sweating like mad when I've done a session.

That's the thing...have heard you can burn more calories doing the housework.

But anything is better than nothing right? (if all housework is done Hmm).

Actually I do sweat buckets after just dance.

Do you have stairs? Running up and down the stairs isn't bad Grin

Any exercise is better than none, and just doing 20 mins, 3 times a week is perfect for good health. As long as your have a raised heart rate and are breathing a bit harder, then you have done enough.

I started doing the Wii fit about 2 months ago. I've also been eating sensibly and walking and cycling more. I've lost one stone.

It's come to a bit of a halt over the school holidays. Too much wine and chocolate once the kids are in bed and I recover from the day. Hope to get back on the wagon once school starts again though.

I lost 3 stone over a year and kickstarted it with wii boxing :)

So when you say you "do Wii fit" what activities do you do. I assume you are using the excercise part of the program and not just the fun games (I haven't actually explored the excercise part...although hula hopoping gets my heart going)

recommend 30 day shred DVD, but I started with wii fit and ea sports active for wii. anything that gets your heart rate up is good!

Hmm....I'm not very fit. Have ALWAYS struggled with sport...I just have a really low physical tolerance for excercise...once my heart starts I just can't keep going. I can swim...but can't get to the pool these days due to childcare issues.

I do have a treadmill which I can with a bit of building up do a 40min brisk walk on...its just finding the time, and overcoming the boredom of it...I thought with teh Wii I could combine "gentle" but regular excercise with something I want to do IYSWIM...maybe I am looking for oo much!
