Niecie - I have a pair of M and S shaping pants, the ones that go up to your bra. They are very good. I recommend trying a size up, because otherwise they can squish you in so much at the sides that you end up looking pregnant. Not good Grin

TheOriginalFAB · 09/09/2011 12:32

I think the pills have arrived. I will be sending them back tomorrow.

I am all weirded out at the moment. I didn't listen to my CD last night or the niht before as I was listening to a different one. Today I have had breakfast of a bowl of muesli. Lunch was a raw pepper and some houmous then 3 mouthfuls of prawn coleslaw and I have had enough. I feel full already. Does your stomach shrink or do you just used to smaller portions? I am wearing my lovely new dress and don't look fat or pregnant but wonder if I am eating enough some days. Food is not the comfort or crutch it has been for 30 years.

MunchkinsMumof2 · 09/09/2011 12:58

Hello, can I join in please? My PK book and cd is on its way from Amazon and as a yoyo dieter of 10 years, I am really hoping this is going to work. I have about 1.5/2 stone to lose and I just want to stay the same size forever and not use food for anything other than nutrition. Could I hear some of your success stories please as I feeling very low about how I look. Thank you, Munchkins

JuicyOlive · 09/09/2011 14:38

Duct tape - ouch! And double ouch!

I've never tried it but here.

just found this wierd thing on ebay

JuicyOlive · 09/09/2011 14:41

Hello Munchkins. Can't give you too much in the way of success stories myself but a lot of MNers have really lost a lot with Paul.

Solo · 09/09/2011 15:12

Oooh! Niecie! hope you got something! I have a suck it all in thing (or 2) from Matalan. Really quite good. Hot though, although that could just be my menopausal thing going on.

Welcome Munchkins :) Well, my story is that I have lost 2 stones, put back on almost a stone and then lost 1/2 again...haven't weighed myself recently and I'm not going to. PMK is very easy to do, but you do need to listen to him and admire yourself (I found that that was my key for the loss believe it or not) and it's not easy to admire yourself either! but you must try hard :) other than that, it's good and you can eat what you love...we are all really lovely on here Grin and we encourage one another and kick each other up the bum when needed asked! I've even been known to stalk PM some people to get them back onto the plan!
Anyway, enjoy it and join us often if you can!

Sorry, Hello Ali and FAB

MunchkinsMumof2 · 09/09/2011 16:41

Thank you! The book arrived 10 minutes after posting and whilst the fat person in me is sceptical I am going to give it a go. I've read the book and did the 1st 20 min workout of The Shred dvd so that has to be a good start...I need to listen to the CD next and hopefully this really will be the start of a positive relationship with food.

TheOriginalFAB · 09/09/2011 16:51

Hi everyone

I just wanted to say I haven't read much of the book yet, maybe 2-3 chapters, but already food isn't the enemy it has been for most of my life.

Solo · 09/09/2011 17:04

Hi FAB :)
I still haven't read the book!

OP posts:
TheOriginalFAB · 09/09/2011 18:15

Solo, how much have you lost and are you eating less and doing exercise?

Solo · 10/09/2011 00:52

I've totally fallen from the wagon FAB not doing exercise (ME is really crap atm) and my meal sizes have crept back up. I must address all of it, but haven't been feeling great, so punishing myself with food is what I'm doing I guess :( I had lost 2 st, put on nearly a st then lost half again...not sure where I am with it now, but definitely haven't re gained the whole lot yet.

Welcome Munchkins Smile

I have been Pauling since May and have lost 2.5stone. I have not been doing so well over the summer holidays because of all the children around, but hope to dive back in now. (although I have still lost and not gained any overall) I have never stuck to a diet for this amount of time before. It is sooo not a diet, because I can eat what i want to eat and not feel as if I am depriving myself of anything. It is also so good to listen to your body properly. I have dropped at least 3 dress sizes and yesterday bought winter clothes in the 4th dress size down!! Grin (I did have a lot to lose, though!! Blush )

Hi to Solo, Howto, Neicie, FAB -are you feeling a better? Juicy - nice to "see" you again, Ali - Hope the day goes well today, I am sure you will look gorgeous!
I have a wedding to go to next weekend, bought the dress in June/July, but have not tried it on since. Must do that today!! It was a little tight when I bought it, should be ok now!

GiganticusBottomus · 10/09/2011 07:37

Alibaba - no bra while you are breast feeding - OMG?! does your friend have children?! You poor thing! I'm sure you will look fab though - positive thinking, good luck today Smile

Hello JuicyOlive and Munchkin

Munchkin, I have been Pauling for about four weeks now and I've lost approx 10 lbs (although admittedly at least 2 of those were because I had a stomach bug this week - I never lose 1/2 stone like some people do with a bug!!)

Honestly I think it is the easiest way I have ever lost weight. In the past i have tried Rosemary Conley, weight watchers (on and off for years), slimming world and the Cambridge diet - oh I a walking yoyo diet cliche Blush Grin None of them have, in any way, provided me with a way of eating that I felt was sustainable for the long term future whereas Paul does.
Last night I went out for dinner with some friends. I decided not to have a starter as there was nothing I really would love to eat there, I had a main course (just chose what I wanted) and then a pudding. Half way through the pudding I thought, I'm stuffed. Normally I would have finished it anyway and gone home feeling sick but I just stopped and left the rest. On any of the other diets a meal out would fill me with anxiety and I would spend the whole week planning my meals around it (saving points etc) for a big eating binge, this way I just enjoyed a meal, didn't overeat and left feeling perfectly happy!

Eating conciously is taking time to get used to as dh and I are both very fast eaters but I'm working on it and as you'll see on this thread I still struggle with emotional eating but just taking it one day at a time with that too.

My mum's doctor told her this delightful phrase 'Fat females feed fast' - I loathe it but maybe it does have a grain of truth... It certainly does in my case Wink

Fab- how's things with you today?

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 10/09/2011 07:41

Hello everyone! We are at my parents (friend getting married is an old friend from home). They are on holiday though so not being looked after like normal! Grin

I have found some surgical tape here (parents are drs) which I'm going to use to hoick my bosom a little!!! Blush

Munchkins - I have been Pauling since a few weeks after DS2 was born at the end of march. I have lost 8lbs over that time and dropped a dress size. My relationship with food has changed completely, last night being a case in point. We bought loads of yummy munchies to have and a nice bottle of wine. The only munchies eaten were one giant cookie between us, and only half the bottle!
There are crisps, nuts, a delicious tiramisu, cold pizza all downstairs untouched.
Now I can't vouch for what might happen when we get back tonight after the wedding a bit pissed, but I can't explain how huge that is for me.

Best bit is that I've bought myself a fab winter wardrobe Grin

Niecie - have a brilliant time at graduation! Did you get some pants?

Fab - isn't it funny, and wonderful how this has suddenly clicked for you! Grin

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 10/09/2011 07:47

Giganticus - x-posts. No she does not have children! Neither do any of the other bridesmaids

It will be fine. I am going to wrap my paschmina around myself for the entire thing - hooray to whoever invented those!!

That is brilliant about your meal out - it is the most liberating thing in the world doing this! Smile

GiganticusBottomus · 10/09/2011 07:52

LOL at proper surgical tape holding up your boobs Alibaba!

That is brilliant on the snacks, that sort of food is where it is so easy to stop listening to your full signs and just keep stuffing, not sure I could be quite so good yet!

I really want a good overhaul of my wardrobe - I need to do a being-honest-with-myself clear out of it, chucking fat and thin clothes. I'm not a big clothes shopper (usually because it makes me Sad! but a lot of my regularly worn clothes are literally getting worn out, have holes in Shock I really need a sort out! I want to try and shift another stone before I go shopping but i'll see what my wardrobe looks like after the clear out and putting away the really summery stuff Sad.

GiganticusBottomus · 10/09/2011 07:57

Oops, the last smiley was supposed to be a smile not sad! I can't wait to go shopping Grin

Alibaba - aaaaaah that explains a lot! Thank goodness for the pashmina, I love them too because they cover my swinging in a light breeze upper arms and also because I'm a great big jessie with the cold Grin

MunchkinsMumof2 · 10/09/2011 09:34

Thank you for sharing your experiences, they are inspiring as I too have done Lighter Life and Weight Watchers and always pile it back on. My problem is definitely emotional eating so I have paid particular attention to that chapter in his book. I feel better already and it's good knowing that you are all achieving what I would like to.

Solo · 10/09/2011 10:55

Lighter Life has caused loads of problems to 4 friends of a friend. They've all had to have their gall bladder out. Not good!

Munch you will do well here :)

Ali, Niecie, have fantastic days! everyone else too!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 10/09/2011 12:04

Ali, enjoy the wedding!

JuicyOlive, good to see you back!

Munchkins, welcome!

I am about to have apple & plum crumble for my lunch Grin

JuicyOlive · 10/09/2011 12:18

Hi all

Had Hot Cross Bun for breakfast. In September.

'Twas delicious. With loads of butter.

My face is feeling thinner already after just a few days. Resisting the urge to get on the scales. But we've got friends over for dinner tonight and will need to go easy on the alcohol so I don't overindulge.

Good luck today Alibaba. Hope the surgical tape holds.

I saw Pauline Quirke in the paper the other day having done LighterLife. She did look good but Shock at 4 people having gall bladder out.

Giganticus I have the same problem. Loads of clothes wearing out. Every time I go out to shop only tents from Evans seem to fit at the moment.

JuicyOlive · 10/09/2011 12:21

BTW, feel free to call me Olive. I do have glasses a bit like hers, but they are sort of retro funky (at least I hope so).

JuicyOlive · 10/09/2011 12:22

JuicyOlive · 10/09/2011 12:24

Good to "see" you too. Smile
