After eating how long is best to wait before doing exercise?

Is something better than nothing even if 10 minutes or is there a minimum amount?

Can you do too much?

Is is possible to work out if you do X amount of minutes exercise you will lose X amount of ounces/pounds?

If you ache should you stop? No pain, no gain?

It depends what you've eaten... I plan to have eaten a main meal at least an hour before going to the gym or a decent length bike ride but will have a cereal bar or banana before I go if it's more than two hours or so since the last main meal. Eating something shortly afterwards is good practice.

Anything that gets you moving is better than nothing.

You can do too much, especially if your nutrition isn't supporting that amount of exercise. Rest days are important for 'repairs'.

No, but working out your base metabolic rate will be a guide as to your minimum necessary calorific intake... then it's a matter of working out energy in, energy out... It's reckoned that it takes over 3000 calories to gain or lose a pound.

Stop if it's skeletal or feels like an injury; muscular aches (rather than pain), you can probably work through.

All just IMO though! :)

Thank you. I did 50 minutes on the rowing machine and then I had to stop.
