Dukan diet - explain in easy language

Can someone please explain this to me in easy English? Lots of people have raved about it but I don't seem to understand it x

I've been doing it since March and have lost 19lb Grin.

There are 4 stages

Step 1: Attack
For 2-7 days eat as much as you want of 72 protein-rich foods.
You can find out how many attack days you should do via the Dukan website.

I did 3 days on attack and had to lose 22lb at the start. In my attack time I lost 5lb.

Step 2: Cruise
Continue eating the protein-rich foods with the addition of 28 vegetables.
Until you get to your target weight.

Step 3: Consolidation
Add fruit, bread, cheese and starchy foods, and 2 celebration meals a week, allowing 5 days for every pound lost.
You work this out by multiplying your total loss by 5 and do that many days of consolodation.

Step 4: Stabilisation
Eat what you like without regaining weight by following 3 simple rules, including the famous weekly 'protein day'.
You can eat what you like but have one attack day every week forever

I'd suggest getting the Dukan book from the library and then buy the recipe book as the recipe book repeats alot of the stuff from the original book but has loads of recipes.
