Day 3 of my diet and I am miserable

Day 3 of diet and I am miserable :( . I have signed up with myfitnesspal, and want to lose 2 stone. I am logging calories and exercise. I have done two zumba classes, and lots of walking (15000 steps yesterday), but I walk alot anyway. Myfitnesspal has assigned me 1200 calories. Am eating healthily, no biscuits or cakes, but feeling really really down. Anyone else in same boat? I guess it will start to feel better, if/ when the weight starts coming off?!

oh dear Sad diets are hard... but feel happy as soon you will be thinner and look great. 6 months later I am still eating roughly 1200 calories a day and its ok, I now am used to it. I keep 100 calories for a little treat at the end of the day.

Thanks. Tis pants! Feel like crying Blush and just caught dh stuffing chocolate in the kitchen, and lying about it!!!! I have 26 calories left for today, so not alot I can do with that! What sort of treat do you have? Maybe I shouldn't have gone cold turkey on the chocolate and biscuits, sigh.

take solace from the fact you will never be that weight again

and also realise it took a long time to put that weight on so will take a long time to get it off

how long are you doing 1200 cals for?

MrsGravy · 19/05/2011 20:42

I'm doing myfitnesspal and earn an extra 200 odd calories by walking for an hour a day - are you entering all the exercise you are doing? That extra couple of hundred calories makes a huge difference!

Bluebell99 · 19/05/2011 22:11

Thanks. I didn't do as much exercise today as stayed home to do housework and missed my pilates class. I did walk for an hour. (have subcumbed to some chocolate now.) Tomorrow is another day! I am not sure how long the 1200 calories is for. Calorie counting is good though, interesting to see how it all adds up without you really noticing.

The 1200 is until you reach your target weight. I have reached my target and I get for maintenance [drum roll] 1,550 which isn't that much! I did do shred today, generally save my exercise calories for the weekend.

Bluebell, an hour's walk at a moderate pace should earn you some extra calories anyway. I'm on day 5 and have found today that the hunger has really eased. I can't manage on 1200 calories right now, I'm hoping that once I'm a few weeks into this and used to surviving on 1400 I can start saving calories for the odd glass of wine on the weekend!
