I'm really short (4'11), and around 11.5 stone atm. I was a really overweight kid and lost alot of weight in my teens and was around 7 stone til I settled down and the weight has just piled back on in the past couple of years.

I've tried slimfast and atkins but found them hard to follow every day. I don't fancy joining a group like WW or SW. Just want to eat less and move about more with little targets every day - such as reach 10,000 steps today, do exercise dvd or don't eat more than 1100 calories.

Anybody wanna join for motivation?

I signed up with myfitnesspal this week on my iphone and computer,its free.
I put in what you want to lose,they will set you a target weight and what you can eat for the day,mine is 1200 calories. You put in what you eat so if you had an asda sandwich they know the calories etc,if you walked for 30 mins they take calories off you burnt its awesome.

I need to lose 4 stone!! Shock!! I have piled on the weight and I'm now determined to get back down to 10 stone. I'm 5ft 6 and at 10 stone I'm a size 12 which I can live with.

First day went really well :) took dog for extra long walk while dd at school and ate well.

What are your thoughts on alcohol while trying to lose weight? I wouldn't say it was a major part in my weight gain, food is!, but it is best to cut it out? I usually drink about twice a week, a glass or two of white wine or a little vodka in juice. Will this completely sabotage my dieting?

Hey ladies can I join you please? I need to lose somewhere in the region of 3 stone, but not too quickly as am BFing. I desperately need the motivation at the moment, just cant say no to chocolatey/sugary/cakey snacks!

Polkadot the odd glass of white wont hurt the dieting too much, its obviously higher in calories than water but its very hard to be a complete saint Grin all the time.

I dont have an iphone so you guys will be my closest alternative!

Polka dot. Need to lose three stone. Sick and tired of being fat fat fat. Just got a personalised start running eight week plan and am going out for the first time this evening. Im not sure I will get far but figure need to exercise as well as diet. I shall be slim I shall be slim I shall be slim. Wink

only on day 3 and my self control is diabolical! Just cant turn down biscuits and cakes etc if they are available to me. Gah. My dinners/portion sizes are a bit better so far but its the extras I struggle to let go of.
Rose do you mind if I adopt your mantra?
