Do you have a piece of tight clothing to use as a guide?

And do you find it helpful in assessing your weight loss? I am thinking something, probably trousers of jeans, with no 'give' that can tell you the 'true' story of your loss (or gain! Shock).

Or is it a demoralising bad idea?

I ask because over the last 2 weeks I have lost 9lbs from a start of 13 stone but I absolutely cannot see or feel it, anywhere! I generally wear loose fitting clothes, like tracksuit bottoms (!!) when I am at home, but this morning I put on my jeans and they don't feel in the slightest bit looser Sad

Yes, skinny jeans from pre pg - trying to lose last few lbs of baby weight. I find it encouraging because, when I did the 30 day shred recently I barely lost any weight but could get the jeans on by the end, so must have lost inches despite not losing weight.

Yes, I did this, tight pair of trousers with no give - very motivating, lots of milestones:

ie when I could get them on, when I could do up the zip, then the button, when I could sit down Smile and finally when they were decent to wear etc.

BUT I started off at 12 5 and I couldn't even get them on until around 10 7 stone... so it was quite a long time.

Now they are too big Smile so can't wear them!!!!

Yes, a pair of unforgiving French Connection jeans. I used to have to lie down to do them up, now they do up nicely with some space at the waistband. I'm waiting for them to fall down on me. So yes, still using them as my guide Smile.

Yes, I call it 80% of my wardrobe...

yes yes - I know when i need to climb into the loft for clothes that i'm on the right track.

Sometimes it takes a while and you can't always see it. You may of lost weight around your face and back for example.

Jacksterbear · 19/05/2011 18:02

hahahah aworryingtrend I know that feeling! Grin
