Ok time for some brutal honesty on what can be achieved in 2 weeks

In 2 weeks I'm going on holiday and I'm a little bit bigger than I want to be after a couple of weeks of indulgence - if I 'bootcamp' myself for 2 weeks what do you think I can achieve? I need some inspirational stories. I am not so bothered by weight as my clothes not feeling tight.

I was thinking of 1400 calories a day with 30mins circuit training every 3rd day and a 40min - 60 min run every other day (already do this most days).

What do you think? Any positive stories out there?!

Thanks

Hmmm same boat. I need to lose about 7lb in 3 weeks... lost 3 so far by eating about 700 cals a day. Blown it just now by tucking into ben and jerry choc ice cream dammit.

I think I might try and motivate myself by posting updates here - start tomorrow :)

I'll try to get back on track tomorrow.

Well harsh but worth it, if you follow the Cambridge diet for 2 weeks you'll lose loads. I lost 15lbs in 2 weeks, was v.painful but worked. Depends how much you want it.

I'd be doing short sharp runs every other day, which is what I used to do. Lots of veg, some plain fish/chicken and some fruit. Loads of water. Easily do 10-14 lbs I reckon.

If you're only doing it as a one off and with a holiday in mind, I would do it, but you couldnt then go mad on holiday as it'll pile back on Grin

In 2 weeks should be able to loose half stone+ if you are v careful & exercise.

Wouldn't go for 1400 calories, rather just eat veggies & lean protein (chicken breast/fish/eggs) & fat free dairy - don't eat anything else. And drink loads of water. No caffiene or diet drinks.

I blew it again yesterday.... did well until evening when I had oven chips with my fish. I had brie and biscuits later too. And wine. Bugger.

Tomato and basil soup for lunch today though, followed by 4 mile run later.

It's alcohol that is my downfall and once I've had a couple of glasses of wine, my determination crumbles.

I'm going to try on bikinis now to give myself a kick towards being good.

700 cals a day not a good idea - far too low - aim for 1200.

thenightsky · 01/05/2011 11:41

forever that 700 was just one day to kinda kick start me. I find it easier to round up calories over a week, so if I go over one day I cut back the next. I couldn't stick to 700 every day for three weeks!

First day of no wine / alcohol for me. My biggest weekness.
Also giving up pots, rice, pasta, bread, chocolate, crisps, biscuits etc.
Not sure what's left to eat! Lol
Need to lose at least 2 stone but realistic that it won't happen over night.
Have increased exercise by cycling, aqua aerobics and 3 zumba classes a week. Also going to start shredding on Tuesday.
Every little helps x

Less than 1000 cals per day and your body will start to burn muscle to try to ensure your organs are kept going, so that is really not a good idea.

Depends how much you weigh now - I can easily lose 7lbs in two weeks. I can put it back on in about two days though unfortunately.
