Comfprt Eating - Help!

Lovemy2babies · 24/04/2011 19:38

I have been training at the gym for the last month and have been doing well I go between 3-4 times a week and have a tonner body (in some areas) and my am able to jog for longer on the treadmill.

I have lost about 5 pounds.

My problem is I am ALWAYS hungry since dieting and training.
I am almost obsessed by it, and am finding that I want to comfort eat, to fill that hole in my tummy. A full tummy makes me feel loved.

I did not feel the need to comfort eat before dieting and training.

Anyone have a solution or does this sound familer?

LM2B, 4 years ago I lost over 3 stone. I was highly motivated and kept it off for 2 years with no problem, having completely changed my eating habits. Then I gave up smoking and since then I just want to eat and eat. I have managed to put on only a little weight but think about food all the time. When at home I try to keep a container of veg soup in the fridge (couple of pints of water, a stock cube or two simmered with some veg and whizzed up in the food pro). I use that when I get the munchies. At work it is OK, I take a packed lunch which is usually salad or a sandwich and a couple of pieces of fruit. When I walk down the street, every woman I see seems to be slimmer than me and I daydream about scones with jam and cream, ice cream, meringues etc etc. I do not know the answer - some days I am on track and some days I eat Olympically. This article is about the glycemic index (foods which release energy slowly) - might be helpful www.telegraph.co.uk/health/3299780/Forget-fads-change-your-eating-habits-for-life.html

Good luck. Just about to eat a carrot or two. Have already had supper and am hungry again!

Well done for losing 3 stones!

:) at the daydreaming about food. I feel that's where I'm at. Last night I was craving food even though I had already eaten dinner, and surfed food websites like GoodFood!

I am very good with eating slow energy releasing food as I have low blood sugar and I feel if I eat properly than I dont feel faint.

Breakfast: Porridge
Lunch: Tuna & boiled egg salad, or omlette
Dinner: Spag bolog/roast dinner/ sausages & mash

I also BF my 11 month old.

Lovemy - it sounds like you could do with some Pauling. Haven't got time to explain it all now, but the Paul McKenna way of eating is helping me and lots of others to address our comfort eating issues. If you are PROPERLY HUNGRY - i.e. you have a gnawing feeling in your tummy, you need to eat. If you're just craving treats, then don't. Don't have time to go into it all now but feel free to come and join us. lots of us on this thread here.

Lovemy2babies could your need to overeat have anything to do with any emotional needs? Just asking because I know there are sometimes links with overeating and how we are feeling?
