IPD Help

I have followed the IPD plan for a week, no cheating at all,no caffine, lots of water, no alcohol, I can hand on heart say that I haven't eaten anything that isn't on the phase one of the plan. Everything I have eaten has been home made, so there is no chance sneaky carbs have been introduced with shop bought sauces etc. Weigh day this morning and I have lost less than 1lb Shock. As my BMI is very high (around 38) and I have about 6 stone to lose then I really should have lost more on the first week. I am going to continue for the next week, however am feeling a bit deflated, and now craving caffine, chocolate and cake, something I never suffered from last week. Please motivate me.

That must be so disappointing! There is a forum for the IPD, at www.pig2twig.co.uk lots of great info and support.

I am low carbing at the moment, or lower carbing, as I am eating orchard fruits and berries and dark rye ryvita, which are not allowed on Phase 1 of the IPD, but it works for me.

Thanks Dreamer, have been on there before so will post, am afraid I have lapsed though, feel so rubbish and not very satisfied with a low carb meal now and I know it's purely psychological

Low carb is the only thing that works for me. I have done SW before, lost 2 stone, got bored with it all and put it all back on and then some!
Maintainable is the problem for me; I am a classic yo-yo dieter. I think that weight loss is 90% psychological, it certainly is for me anyway.

I often don't lose much the first week of any diet. Low carbing, despite thinking I am drinking loads doesn't really make me think I am bunged up but if I drink EVEN MORE then it seems to help so I must be or maybe the 2nd week it just all sorts itself out, I often have a good loss then. I tend to yo-yo between nothing much and WOW how did I do that? So keep at it, drink more if you CAN and find youself something amazing to eat that is still on plan. I don't stick to IPD or anything much just generally low carb but I would treat myself to a Woodies bar or something so I felt I was getting choccy or make a low carb cake. Something scrummy that you can't believe you can eat. Or a fave of mine when I need a pudding (not usually a problem as I have no sweet tooth but sometimes when LCing I just need one psychologically for some reason) I get some mascarpone and some cocoa powder and a bit of cold coffee and make myself a kind of tiramisu jobbie perhaps with added stevia to sweeten and if I am in a really bad way Wink I crumble half an amaretti biscuit over for the added sweetness and crunch. That has seen me through some low times that dessert. And I rarely manage to eat it in one sitting as it is SO rich. Don't lose heart xx

Bah, well I am so fed up, have followed phase 1 for two weeks, without cheating and have only lost 2lb, I could cry, what am I doing wrong? Has anyone else found this with a low carb plan? Everyone seems to rave about it on here.

Curlywurly low carb didn't especially work for me, but low carb/low fat (ie dukan) did.

refmum · 04/05/2011 16:14
