I have 2lbs left to lose, any tips on staying motivated?

I've lost about 24lbs since this time last year (pregnancy weight) through calorie counting and exercise. I still have a little pot belly so I'd like to lose another 2lbs to see if that shifts most of it. But I'm finding it really hard to stick to a certain number of calories now that I'm slimmer. I get to 1600 calories and try not to eat more, but then my brain goes "Hmm, I fancy a Creme egg. 1800 cals isn't too bad. Mmm, that creme egg was nice, I want more chocolate. Ah, sod it, I'll have another and stick to 1600 cals tomorrow". Which would be fine except it's the same every day, and the weight is just not coming off anymore.

So, has anyone got any tips for losing the last few lbs? I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and I'd really love to reach my goal weight by then.

I would say try MyFitnesspal.com which is excellent for keeping track of what you are eating - as long as you are honest! Also little things like drinking LOTS of water, reducing portion sizes by just a little, upping your exercise a bit in a really basic non threatening way e.g. parking a bit further away from your destination, walking wherever possible. HTH.

How about signing up for an event/race to keep you motivated. There's bound to be a Race for Life somewhere near you over summer. Ok it doesn't necessarily help with the eating side of thing, but with the extra training you'd have to do it will help compensate for those days where you do treat yourself! Plus it gives you something specific to aim for

Well if you continue with that attitude you'll put it all back on, so all the hard work with be for nothing. Right after a diet your body is very sensitive to additional food and will look to rapidly replenish its fat stores.

Also best way to loose belly fat its to cut out sugar and white carbs, so when you see creme egg imagine it sticking onto outside of your stomach.

Agree an event is a good idea. I have triathlon in June and race for life in July...

I think you need to get your head round the idea that if you go back to your old WOE the weight will go back on. I love MFP really makes you see how "expensive" chocolate etc is in terms of calories. Also I like reading diet books to motivate me! I am now 10lbs less than original target but still think thighs too big Sad.
