Anyone want to join me?

I started being more sensible late last year and was losing about 1lb a week. But things got stressful at home for various reasons and motivation stopped.

Just been on a cheap holiday and did some fun activities but ate more too I think. Weighing myself tomorrow and dreading it!

Anyway the weather is turning nice now, but it has suddenly got really hot and it is really horrible being fat in the heat! Home situation still difficult but I can't keep using it as an excuse. I am doing myself no favours by comfort eating and lazing about.

I am determined to be a lot slimmer and fitter than this by next summer. I am not going to do any silly crash diet, I am looking at the long term here. 1-2lbs a week I think, but I am more interested in exercise and being healthy than the actual numbers IYSWIM.

So: I, FreudianSlippery, do solemnly swear that this is my last summer of being FAT!

Who else will take the pledge?

Yep I will go for it

Started off well last year on RC diet but leader closed down meeting and never got any further; gained a few pounds after a rough month and now would be happy with 1 - 1.5 stone gone. I was never meant to be skinny but that would be healthy.

I struggle as I am a carer so find it hard to get out and about much.

Hurrah :)

I weigh about 50% more than what I should - have roughly 4-5st to lose overall, although I wouldn't necessarily expect to lose all of it by next summer!

I will join you. I only had DS2 3 weeks ago and I'm BFing, so I'm not going to diet as such - merely aim not to eat half a packet of chocolate biscuits and a slab of cake every day which is what I did after I had DS1 Grin

I am a bridesmaid in September

My brother is getting married next spring and I want to be able to wear something fabulous rather than just whatever fits and looks 'ok'.

I would like to shift a stone by September as my first goal, which is 3lbs a month.

Yep! I'll join you! Always struggled with my weight and am something of a comfort eater. In 2005 I have my first real attempt at lossing weight and went from a size 26 to a curvy 12. Then changed jobs, went from running around all day to be sitting at a desk, the weight started to creep back on, then fell pregnant and horrible all day sickness meant very little exercise and lots of jaffa cakes (one of the few things I could manage to keep down). I'm now back up to a size 18 and am desperate to drop a few size.

I've joined the gym and I'm attempting to go 4/5 times a week, also in training for the Moonwalk in June. I turn 30 in October and have a beautiful dress that I would love to wear - it's a size 14. So....

I, Chirpchirp, do solemnly swear that this is my last summer of being FAT!

chirpchirp · 26/04/2011 11:26

Quite impressed that I managed to lose 4lb in my first week. Been going to the gym every night once DS is asleep and did a 10 mile walk last night training for the Moonwalk in June.

How is everyone else going? Got any tips to share?

DooinMeCleanin · 26/04/2011 11:29

Oh I will join. My sis and I had planned to go to the supermarket to stock up on healthy food later today. This is my birthday present from her apparently. It goes well with my steam iron, fags and Lambrini don't you think? Grin

I wonder if she will let me buy a lettuce? Wink

We also planned to work out four times a week and start jogging with the mutts again.

Go on then, count me in I've started a low GI diet, partly through health reasons and partly because I'm a porker. Need to lose 2 stone, would be happy with 1.

Can I join in please. I'm doing Slimming World at the minute but weight is still going up rather than down.

I do probably need to be a bit stricter but am also waiting for an operation and according to Dr my health problems will make it hard for me to lose weight. But hopefully op will be in next 4 weeks and then it'll be full steam ahead.

Am doing 30day shred as well, its all being a bit sporadic but am going to try and do it more often. Or at least a good session on the wii fit. Grin

I need to lose nearly 2 stones.

MarianH · 26/04/2011 20:48

I, MarianH, do solemnly swear that this is my last summer of being FAT.

I am waiting for my low GL book to turn up, have actually done exercise ( in spite of the fact I am allergic to it) for two days in a row, and I had... SALAD Shock Shock Shock for tea in pizza hut tonight. That has never happened before, and I even let DD have the garlic bread off the side.

I need to get rid of at least 2st, more like 3.

I had lost 1 1/2st of this weight, but recent events have resulted in serious comfort eating. It's either get a grip, or weigh another 2st by the end of summer. I also went to clear out my wardrobe of size 10/12s from bygone days (this was from successful slimming; I am a natural fattie) and thought 'No! I shall wear some of these nice things again. My wardrobe of giant black tents will not be it for the next several decades of my life.'

So, again, I, MarianH, do solemnly swear that this is my last summer of being FAT.
