OK got my GL diet book... now what?

I got my GL diet book this morning and I'm as confused as ever....

Can anyone help?

I've been keeping a food diary and trying to stick to what my dietician said about having 3 main meals with starchy carbs at each, and 3 low GI snacks in between
but am getting confused trying to put the two together....

Ensure that the starchy carbs in your meals are low GI - eg quinoa, brown rice, oats, sweet potato

Only have low GI snacks - eg small portion nuts, yoghurt (ideally sugar free)

eg breakfast: egg and wholemeal toast
mid morning: apple and yoghurt
lunch: tuna salad with small serving of brown pasta
mid afternoon: handful of nuts and some berries
dinner: vegetable soup, grilled chicken, steamed veggies and sweet potato.
later in evening: another yoghurt
