Dukan diet...any success stories?

I need to lose about 20-30lbs and want to feel generally healthier, have better skin and hair etc

I have got the book and am starting next week i.e. after my mothers day treat Smile

I am going on my summer holiday in 11 weeks time (so I should have been on the diet for 10 weeks or so by the time I go) and wondered if I could have some treats on my hols?

I am finding the book a bit disjointed to read tbh...I think I have the general idea and am planning to do the attack phase for 3 days - 5 if I can.

Have any of you done/are dong this diet?

Any tips????

TIA

can anyone tell me if this diet would suit a fish eating veggie? I want to lose weight and have found that lower carbs works for me and this diet seems to fit the bill.

Yes I think so katz Its not just meat that contains protein. Fish, shellfish and eggs are a main part of the diet too.

BADG oh sorry I didnt know. Perhaps its called something else where you are??

katz I think dukan would be fine if you eat fish but impossible for a real veggie... although apparently he is devising a vegetarian version.

bornagain try health food shop - maybe call around some to see if any local ones have. Bran flakes are not the same.

I have oatbran in yoghurts can't be bothered with galettes although sometimes make muffins with egg, oatbran, tuna and cottage cheese.

I think you'd be better off skipping the oat bran altogether than eating bran flakes.
I know it is boring and shit in attack phase, but it serves two purposes:

  • you eat less because meat makes you feel sick after a couple of days
  • when you get onto vegetables they seem wildly exotic and yummy!

I did Dukan last year and lost over 2 stone in less than 4 months. And for the last couple of months I was having the odd glass of wine. Really important to stick to it in the beginning, to get the weightloss going though. I finished in Feb and haven't put the weight on yet. I am no longer following the diet but the proportion of protein in my diet is much higher than before and I don't really eat much bread/pasta (maybe twice a week). It has been a revelation, I weigh less than I did when I conceived my first child, and I may give it another go soon to shift another half stone or so.

BADG - make sure you drink plenty of water to keep you regular. I did get a bit bunged up during attack, but it is only temporary. The very good thing (TMI coming here...) is that when you go go you suddenly realise how much weight you've lost IYSWIM!

Well done RancerDoo!

I found some Oat Bran so I am going to put a couple of tbsps in my yoghurt n the morning. I might also try the Oat Bran Cookies for a snack in the afternoon.

Just weighed myself and I've lost another pound!!! Gonna try to stick to the Attack phase for 10 days. This is Day 5 and it's really not that bad. And I've chuffed to bits with the weight loss. And I don't feel hungry!

You can buy oat bran in Hollands&Barretts. It is useful to check their shelves for starch, birch tree sugar-xylitol, goji berries, and other foods.
